Senior VFX Supervisor Gregory Anderson is coming to AfroComicCon
AfroComicCon has announced that Senior VFX Supervisor Gregory Anderson will be among the Special Guests for the virtual convention!
Greg Anderson is currently Head of Studio and Senior VFX Supervisor for the FuseFX New York office. He was FuseFX’s first employee in NY in 2014, since then building the office to over 75. Greg has directly supervised the visual effects for the hit Marvel television series Luke Cage, The Punisher, and Iron Fist, and has overseen the work on several other award-winning shows, including The Blacklist, The Get Down, and Mr. Robot, for which he and his team received an Emmy Nominated in 2018. Most recently, Greg supervised the visual effects for Ava DuVernay’s Netflix limited series, When They See Us.
Originally from St. Louis, Greg attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned a B.S. in Art and Design and an M.S. with a focus in Design and Computation, both from the School of Architecture and Planning. He started his career at Sony Pictures Imageworks designing the visual effects for several blockbusters and Oscar-nominated features including Starship Troopers, Hollow Man, Spider-Man, and Matrix Revolutions. Greg then transitioned into advertising as a visual effects supervisor and director of campaigns for Target, Nissan, Microsoft, and many others. In 2009, he co-founded his own design/VFX studio, producing promos for MTV, Comedy Central, and OWN. This experience led to his current position with FuseFX.
Greg is a member of both the Television Academy and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
AfroComicCon‘s 1st virtual convention will be held on October 24, 2020. Due to COVID-19 concerns, the annual event started in 2017 by the Oakland Technology & Education Center (OTEC), will be held virtually and free through a portal on the organization’s website. Sponsored by the NNPA, the Oakland A’s, and Pixar Entertainment, AfroComicCon promises to be a day full of exciting panels, screenings, entertainment, gaming, cosplay and special guests.
