Steven Universe The Movie: With Musical Theater Geeks
Steven Universe the Movie is Steven Universe The Musical so one of my guests writes musicals: AriDy Nox is a black femme storyteller and social activist with a variety of forward-thinking creative works under her/their belt including the documentary Flawless Feminism, the sci-fi operetta Project Tiresias, and the dark comedy Joy is Dead, as well as others. AriDy creates out of the vehement belief that creating a future in which marginalized peoples are free requires a radical imagination. Ari is a graduate of the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at Tisch School of the Performing Arts at NYU and a beneficiary of the Musical Theater Factory fellowship afrofuturist musical named Metropolis.
Klaudia Amenabar is a social media producer, pop culture critic, and occasional audio fiction voice actor. You may know her from her embarrassing Tumblr URL from high school Elphibia for President of Galifery or because she tweets too much about either Star Wars or Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure As https://twitter.com/kaludiasays.
This is also the episode where https://twitter.com/Elana_Brooklyn compares Steven Universe’s predicament here to Obama ending Organize for America…
