Boss Baby Repeats in First While Beauty and the Beast Repeats in Second

It was a weekend as expected where Boss Baby came in first place repeating in its second weekend. The film earned an estimated $26.3 million bringing its domestic total to $89.4 million. The film narrowly beat Beauty and the Beast again which repeated in second place. That film earned $25 million to bring its domestic total to $432.3 million domestically and $977.4 million worldwide. The film will likely cross the billion dollar mark this coming week.

In third and fourth place were two new films that performed as expected. Smurfs: The Lost Village opened up with $14 million to come in third while Going in Style earned $12.5 million to come in fourth.

Ghost in the Shell dropped almost 61% from its debut weekend to add $7.4 million to its domestic total and round out the top five. The film’s domestic total is $31.6 million but it has also earned $92.8 million for $124.4 million worldwide. The film was always likely to make most of its totals in international theaters and the film looks to be performing in a similar way to Warcraft which went on to earn $433.7 million worldwide.

In comic book films….

Logan came in at #8 with an estimated domestic earning of $4.1 million to bring that total to $218.1 million. The film worldwide has earned $596.6 million.

Both Wilson and The LEGO Batman Movie have dropped out of the listing. Wilson looks to have made about $41,000 over the week. The LEGO Batman Movie added about $3 million over the past week as it keeps earning money internationally.
