Gen Con’s Event Program, International Games, and Beer!
Gen Con 2016 is less than 100 days away and the convention is rolling along in the lead up. Those who plan on attending will get to see the initial list of events at noon on Friday, May 6 with the release of the official Event catalog to the public. At that point folks will be able to start to build their Wish List for when the Event Registration begins Sunday, May 15 at noon.
The convention has also announced a new initiative for attendees to experience games from outside the USA and other English-language countries. Want to learn about games and communities from outside the United States? The new Discover International Games (DIG) program will feature some events where you can play titles; other events may have opportunities to talk about and explore different gaming concepts. International publishers and players will gather to talk about their experiences with worldwide gaming communities.
This is an event to learn about all kinds of tabletop games (whether board or card games, RPGs, LARPs, or something entirely different) from all around the world.
The convention is looking for volunteers, publishers, designers, translators, importers to help out and attendees can send suggestions in as to what should be highlighted.
Finally, the voting is over and Gen Con has announced the name of this year’s official beer, 20-Sided Rye! Sun King Brewery is currently crafting the beer.
