In this episode of Comic Book Men, Chewbacca himself, Peter Mayhew, judges a wookiee call contest at the Stash.

Five seasons, and Comic Book Men has not changed its formula one bit. The episode is the usual silly fun that is more nostalgia than actual working in a comic book store.

The episode has what seems like less segments going over items people are buying or selling, instead focusing on the contest of the guys having wookie call contest. Yes, Peter Mayhew does show up and there is a contest. It’s the usual goofy fun where the guys ask questions to Mayhew, and do their goofy thing.

The buying/selling segments are interesting, though neither goes into enough depth. Both the Rom and lunch box segments could have opened up interesting discussions both as to the crazy history of Rom, but also why the guy wanted the box.

For the fifth season opener the show has not changed at all, that’s both a good and a bad thing. Much like their hints of not growing up as individuals, the show has not done so either.
