Sex #1 Gets Third Printing

It’s clear, people can’t get enough Sex.

Sex #1, the attention-grabbing first issue of the new Image Comics series by Joe Casey and Piotr Kowalski, has sold out of its second printing at the distributor level the same week as its release and will immediately receive a third printing, to be in stores on May 1.

Sex, the story of a former superhero who hangs up his cape to pursue the kind of life he had forbidden himself, burst onto the scene in early March, with an exclusive edition of the first issue available only at Emerald City Comicon in Seattle. Its first printing, in stores on March 6, sold out the same week as its release.

Sex #1‘s third printing is available to order now (Diamond code FEB138534), and its second issue will be in stores on April 10.

We dug the first issue and gave it a good review which you can catch here. We recommended it as a “buy.”

This is one of those series that plays mystery well and could be one of the best adult series of 2013, so far it’s one of the more interesting psychological studies of the super hero.

  • For such a provocatively titled book, I found it a rather ho-hum read. I thought Casey’s Dirty Talk column was the most interesting part.

    • It’s a good series so far. The second issue was good, but really the series seems to be saying “look, our title is so taboo” when the contents within aren’t as much (more so second issue).
