Yungblud and Z2 team for a third collaboration, Yungblud Presents Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club 3: The Funeral

Following his incendiary journey into sequential art with The Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club and Weird Times at Quarry Bank UniversityYungblud and Z2 Comics return with the third volume in the musician’s ballistic tales of super-powered outcasts rebelling against sinister boarding schools and beyond. Yungblud Presents Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club 3: The Funeral is co-written by Ryan O’Sullivan featuring interior art courtesy Annapaola Martello and Vasilis Lolos, with covers from Martello and Butch Mapa. This graphic novel serves as a cross-media experience alongside Yungblud’s single, “The Funeral,” released in March.

This new chapter builds off the gleefully irreverent, bitingly profane adventures of Yungblud and his super-powered coterie—the titular Ritalin Club—of Harmony, Scout, Zombie Joshua, Em, and Encore. After breaking free from the repressive constraints of Blackheart’s High School and navigating the horrors of Quarry Bank University, Yungblud will face his greatest foe: mortality.

Two years after saving the world from the Mangaverse, Yungblud died. No one knows how, only that it was enough to cause The Ritalin Club to disband and stop talking to each other. But as their old foe, The Spreading Darkness, has returned, more powerful than ever, it falls to Zombie Joshua to get the band back together. Everymember. Living or dead.

Z2 Comics and Yungblud present Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club 3: The Funeral in both softcover and deluxe clamshell formats, including a hand-signed edition of the book, four prints, and CD. Annapaola Martello and Butch Mapa provide cover art.

Z2 Comics and Dee Snider Capture the Rocker’s Fight Against Censorship and the PMRC in the Original Graphic Novel, He’s Not Gonna Take It

More than 35 years ago, Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider marched into the United States Senate’s Committee on Commerce in a jean jacket and tank top to confront a band of concerned Washington housewives hellbent on silencing the howl of metal and beyond. Co-founded by Tipper Gore, a committee of politicians’ spouses labeling themselves the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) had lobbied to plaster “Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics” labels on any music that conformed to their definition of sexual, violent, or drug-endorsing. Partnering with Z2 Comics, Snider’s war to preserve the first amendment will be immortalized in He’s Not Gonna Take It, a graphic novel charting the rocker’s passionate battle against censorship alongside writer Frank Marraffino and artist Steve Kurth

The following journey would forever forge the name Dee Snider alongside the battle for freedom of expression—in the arts and beyond. This new graphic novel charts that one-man war throughout Dee’s life. From a childhood where he was frequently silenced, through the early efforts to stifle his band’s music, to the open warfare of the PMRC hearings in Washington DC, and his current efforts on social media, He’s Not Gonna Take It tells the story of why free speech is so important to this man who has perpetually fought for it—even when it endangered everything that was important to him.

Z2 Comics and Dee Snider present He’s Not Gonna Take It in both softcover and hardcover formats, as well as oversized hardcover deluxe, and an oversized hardcover deluxe hand-signed edition. Erik Rodriguez and Josh Bernstein provide cover art. Deluxe editions include retro-comic art prints from Roy BurdineJavier Aranda, and Carlos Olivares, as well as a Dee Snider commemorative coin.

Z2 Comics celebrates the most crucial indie album of the new millennium with Broken Social Scene: You Forgot It in People, The Graphic Novel. Paralleling the confluence that led a community of Toronto musicians to craft a winding audio epiphany, this project unites one writer and 13 artists to create a series of intertwining vignettes inspired by the landmark 2002 record, You Forgot It in People, on its 20th anniversary. Overseen by Broken Social Scene’s Kevin DrewJustin Peroff and Brendan Canning, writer Lonnie Nadler joins Eric OrchardScott ChantlerRay Fawkes, Mike FeehanDiana Nguyen, and more artists to be announced for a fully Canadian sequential art jam session.
