Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods-and imprisoned just as quickly-Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Ahead of a new trailer being released this Thursday, DC‘s Black Adam got six new posters spotlighting the heroes and anti-hero of the film. The new posters show off Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson), Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), and the entire cast.
Black Adam comes to theaters on October 21, 2022.
Warner Bros. Discovery haven’t just been shaking up shows on television, they’re also shuffling around their film release dates. Both Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Shazam!: Fury of the Gods have been pushed back.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been moved in an interesting switch of dates. The film was to open March 17, 2023 and will now currently open on December 25, 2023. The Christmas date is a pretty big one as it’s prime family movie going season.
The film is a follow to the original which grossed $1.149 billion in 2018. Jason Mamoa returns in the title role as well as Patrick Wilson’s Orm and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta. Rumors have circulated that Ben Affleck would also return as Batman in the film.
Shazam!: Fury of the Gods was supposed to come out during December of this year and instead will take Aquaman’s old date, March 17, 2023.
The original Shazam was released in April 2019 and went on to gross a little over $366 million. The sequel adds Lucy Liu, Helen Mirren and Rachel Zegler to the cast.
The two films where a part of a handful of other movie projects whose dates were announced or changed.

Though it is nearly completed Batgirl won’t be getting a release. Warner Bros. has decided to shelve the film which will not see it making to theaters or even HBO Max.
The $90 million production starred Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl and directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The film was launched in 2021 as a focus on original films for HBO Max. The new regime of Warner Bros. Discovery has decided to focus on theatrical releases and felt the film wasn’t up to snuff for it. The films they are looking for are on a “blockbuster scale” and it was felt Batgirl didn’t reach that level. The film’s budget was smaller as it was original meant for HBO Max but the budget increased due to COVID delays and protocols.
There are many conflicting takes coming out right now though. Some say this doesn’t fit into the new focus. Some others have stated test screenings were negative. Others think this is part of a general shuffle going on with DCU movies. Rumors have it that Ben Affleck’s Batman is getting a bigger role in The Flash and Aquaman 2.
The movie was rumored to be getting a theatrical release instead of going straight to HBO Max so it being pulled even from that is a bit puzzling but the new regime seems to want to move forward with big movies going forward. The fate of the troubled film The Flash seems to be up in the air as well. It was noticeably absent from San Diego Comic-Con.
Batgirl also featured J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Michael Keaton as Batman, and Brendan Fraser as the villain Firefly.
Now… countdown until #ReleaseBatgirl or #FreeBatgirl begins and plans change yet again.

Black Adam, the highly anticipated comic film starring Dwayne Johnson aka the Rock, has had a few video and photo teases so far. We’ve yet to get a full trailer and a solid look at the costume. Things are starting to change as we’re getting both.
Johnson posted a fresh look at him in costume and reminded us of the trailer premiere on June 8th.

It shouldn’t be much of a surprise but Robert Pattinson and director Matt Reeves are both returning in the recently announced sequel to The Batman. Warner Bros. announced the sequel at CinemaCon.

Matt took one of our most iconic and beloved superheroes and delivered a fresh (take). Matt Reeves, Rob Pattinson and the entire team will be taking audiences back to Gotham with The Batman 2.
The Batman released in March this year and has so far grossed over $759 million making it one of the highest grossing films of the year so far.
The film has been such a success it’s spun out a straight-to-limited series order for The Penguin which will feature Colin Farrell returning as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot, aka Penguin.

Home Entertainment, DC Showcase – Constantine: The House of Mystery – which also includes the shorts Blue Beetle, The Losers and the title subject Constantine: The House of Mystery – will be available everywhere on Blu-ray and in 4K on Digital starting May 3, 2022.
Directed by Matt Peters (Justice League Dark: Apokolips War) from a script written by Paul Giacoppo (Young Justice, Star Wars: Resistance), Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth! was initially released as a bonus feature on Justice Society: World War II in Spring 2021. Jack Kirby’s beloved DC comic creation features the last civilized teenage boy on a post-apocalyptic Earth ruled by talking animals. In this short, Kamandi and his friends Prince Tuftan of the Tiger Kingdom and humanoid mutant Ben Boxer are kidnapped by a gorilla cult dedicated to finding the reincarnation of their god, The Mighty One. Golgan, the cult’s leader, puts Kamandi’s team through a series of deadly tests to find out if any of them know the secret of The Mighty One.
Gerard McMurray will write and direct the film Black, based on the comic series published by Black Mask Studios and created by Kwanza Osajyefo and Tim Smith 3, with artists Jamal Igle and Khary Randolph.
Black debuted in 2016 and since has spun out multiple series set in the world. The comic is set in a world where only Black people have superpowers and it’s kept a secret. Kareem Jenkins discovers his powers after being shot by the police.
The film will take a similar direction following a young man who discovers his powers after surviving a violent crime. He then finds himself in the middle of a war over who will control the empowered and their abilities and the future of humanity.
Robinov and John Graham will produce for Studio 8. Osajyefo and Smith will co-produce with Black Mask Studio’s Matteo Pizzolo and Brett Gurewitz serving as producer and executive producer.
Warner Bros. has released a deleted scene from The Batman that features Robert Pattinson‘s Batman visiting the Joker played by Barry Keoghan.
This isn’t the first “comic role” for Keoghan, who played Druig in Marvel Studios’ Eternals.
