Arthur Adams, Kaare Andrews, Dave Johnson, JG Jones, Joshua Middleton, and Amy Reeder are coming to Baltimore Comic Con

Join the Baltimore Comic-Con for the 25th anniversary of the convention at the Inner Harbor’s Baltimore Convention Center on September 20-22, 2024! Baltimore Comic-Con has announced comics guests Arthur Adams, Kaare Andrews, Dave Johnson, JG Jones, Joshua Middleton, and Amy Reeder to the 25th Anniversary event! The website has more information on ticketing, other announced guests, cosplay events, and more!

Arthur Adams is an award-winning artist who became an immediate fan favorite as the penciler on the critically-acclaimed 1985 Longshot mini-series. His decades-spanning career has included cover and interior work on such titles as Batman, Superman, The Hulk, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, X-Men, New Mutants, Godzilla, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Excalibur, Ultimate X, Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Walking Dead. He’s the creator, writer and artist on Monkeyman and O’Brien.

Outside of comics, Arthur has done movie, toy, and game designs, book illustrations, and provided the artwork for an X-Men-themed Spaghetti-O’s can.

Kaare Andrews is a comic writer and artist known for his work at Marvel Comics and his distinctive art and storytelling on characters like Spider-Man, Hulk, and Iron Fist. Kaare is also the creator of the acclaimed series Renato Jones: The One Percent for Image Comics. In addition to his comic work, he’s an accomplished filmmaker, bringing his unique style to both the page and screen. His latest book is Spider-Man: REIGN 2.

An officially ordained Methodist Deacon, “Reverend” Dave Johnson may be best known for his minimalist covers on the noir Vertigo series, 100 Bullets. He has done all 100 covers.

He has also done a number of covers for DC Comics, primarily Batman and Detective Comics. Dave also worked with Erik Larsen on the mini-series Superpatriot: Liberty & Justice.

He is also known for his work with Marvel on Deadpool. Dave is the principal founder of “Drink and Draw”, a get-together of professional artists that spawned an art book by the same name.

Mr. Johnson earned the 2002 Eisner Award for Best Cover Artist. He was also nominated for an Eisner in 2004 for his work on the critically-acclaimed DC Elseworlds miniseries Superman: Red Son, which is now a perennial bestseller in graphic novel form.

J.G. Jones is a cover artist, painter, penciller, inker, and writer. He has been nominated for 3 Eisner Awards, as well being credited for his work as co-producer for Universal Pictures film version of the graphic novel Wanted along with Mark Millar. He has contributed both covers and interior art for DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Wildstorm, Dark Horse, Dynamite, BOOM! Studios, Top Cow, Valiant, Defiant, Broadway, and Crusade Comics.

J.G. and writer Devin Grayson introduced the Yelena Belova character in Marvel Knights Black Widow limited series, followed by creating and drawing Marvel Boy with Grant Morrison, before working on Greg Rucka’s Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia.

J.G. has always been a prolific cover artist, painting covers for Brian K. Vaughan’s Y: The Last Man, as well as Wonder Woman. His cover work included many titles, but he may be best remembered for providing all 52 covers for DC Comics’ groundbreaking weekly title, 52.

He then co-created Top Cow Comics’ breakout sensation Wanted with writer Mark Millar before heading to DC to work with Grant Morrison on the epic Final Crisis, and on Brian Azzarello’s Before Watchmen:The Comedian.

Jones teamed up with Mark Waid to write Strange Fruit for BOOM! Studios, for which he provided the lushly painted art.

And did I mention covers? Lots and lots of covers.

Joshua Middleton began his career as a comic book artist in 1999, providing illustrations for every major publisher and eventually branching out into animation and film design. In 2005, he began his long-running relationship with DC Comics, illustrating Superman/Shazam: First Thunder before rising to prominence as a premier cover artist on a wide variety of DC titles, including his recent notable runs on Aquaman and Batgirl. His exceptional skill and uncommon range as an artist have earned him his place amongst the very best cover artists in the industry.

Whether it’s creating new characters or reinventing older ones, Amy Reeder is here to remind us that great characters are what keep us hooked on comics. Her cover work spans many of the DC and Marvel characters we all love, but she’s especially known for her interior work on titles like Madame Xanadu, Batwoman, Amethyst, and Wonder Woman. Amy co-created Rocket Girl through Image Comics, as well as Moon Girl from Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur–who now stars in her own cartoon on Disney! These days, Amy tends to write what she draws, which includes her recent work on DC’s Amethyst. Currently, she’s working on an unannounced romance graphic novel, while balancing cover gigs for the Big Two.

This year’s confirmed guests for the show include: Arthur Adams (Longshot), Kaare Andrews (Spider-Man: REIGN 2), Rodney Barnes (Killadelphia), Jeremy Bastian (Cursed Pirate Girl), Marty Baumann (Saturday only, Pixar artist), John Beatty (Marvel Super Heroes: Secret Wars), Rose Besch (Miles Morales: Spider-Man), Russ Braun (The Boys), Brett Breeding (Superman), Tom Brevoort (coursey of Hero Initiative, FCBD 2023: Avengers/X-Men), Mark Brooks (Immoral X-Men), Mark Buckingham (Fables), Jim Calafiore (NED, Lord of the Pit), Chris Campana (Amazing Spider-Man), Richard Case (Doom Patrol), John Cassaday (X-Force), Castillo Studios, Keith Champagne (Stranger Things), Howard Chaykin (Time Squared), Sean Chen (Genesis), Cliff Chiang (Paper Girls), Frank Cho (Harley Quinn), Michael Cho (Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories–Qui-Gon Jinn), Amy Chu (KISS: The End), Matthew Clark (Adventures of Superman, courtesy of Hero Initiative), Steve Conley (The Middle Age), Katie Cook (Nothing Special), Joe Corallo (King Arthur and the Knights of Justice, courtesy of Mad Cave Studios), Vito Delsante (Stray), Todd Dezago (The Perhapanauts), Rich Douek (A Phone Call Away, courtesy of Mad Cave Studios), Scott Dunbier (Jim Lee’s X-Men Artist’s Edition, courtesy of Hero Initiative), Danny Earls (The Incredible Hulk), Ben Edlund (The Tick), Chris Eliopoulos (Ordinary People Change the World), Steve Epting (New Avengers), David Finch (Moon Knight), Trish Forstner (Feral), Franco (Teen Titans Go to the Library), Sam Freeman (Hound, courtesy of Mad Cave Studios), Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez (DC Nation), Ron Garney (BZRKR), Mitch Gerads (Mister Miracle), Sanford Greene (Bitter Root), Gene Ha (Mae), Bob Hall (West Coast Avengers), Cully Hamner (Blue Beetle), Bo Hampton (Batman: Castle of the Bat), Scott Hanna (Amazing Spider-Man), Tony Harris (The Whistling Skull), Dean Haspiel (The Red Hook), Glenn Hauman (They Keep Killing Glenn), Mike Hawthorne (Deadpool), Marc Hempel (Sandman), Kyle Higgins (Radiant Black), Derek Hunter (Walking Dead: Small Bites), Nikkol Jelenic (Midnight Rose), J.G.
