Both issues of this popular Ghost Machine horror series are being rushed back to print this week by Image Comics in order to keep up with escalating demand.
In Hyde Street #3, picture, if you will, a holiday season filled not with joy or cheer, but with shadows and secrets. Enter a man known only as Mr. X-Ray. His journey is a desperate one, seeking escape from the inescapable. Standing in his way, an innocent malevolence: Pranky, a boy scout who lives not to serve his fellow man, but to serve the dark power that presides over Hyde Street. Yet, during this strange Christmas tale, these two unlikely figures may find common ground…or not.
In Hyde Street #4, witness the demise of a good man in a town without pity. A caring man, with aspirations to be known among his peers as one of Hollywood’s finest actors, only to see these colleagues snicker at him when he’s typecast as a famous film monster made of human patchwork parts. But, as we’ll see, life imitates art in Tinseltown, down a boulevard called…Hyde Street.

Ghost Machine’s superstar creators—Jason Fabok, Gary Frank, Bryan Hitch, Ivan Reis, and Peter Snejbjerg—join forces with The Rocketfellers‘ Francis Manapul for an epic second issue double-page spread spanning the “four known realities” of this groundbreaking creator-owned collective. The spread will appear in the upcoming The Rocketfellers #2, which will be published by Image Comics and hit shelves next month.
Ghost Machine launches The Rocketfellers on November 20 with issue #1. As the futuristic family hides out in “the simple days of 2024,” and struggles to fit into the present, they’re also pursued by a relentless threat from their time.
Written by Peter J. Tomasi and Manapul, with art by Manapul and lettering by Rob Leigh, this second issue unveils the villains’ search through all four corners of Ghost Machine’s realities—including those of the American history of hidden heroes “The Unnamed” (with Geiger, Redcoat, and Junkyard Joe), the sci-fi breakout hit Rook: Exodus, the twisted terrors of Hyde Street (who is that deadly scout?), and The Rocketfellers’ own “Family Odysseyes” with the upcoming Hornsby & Halo, which is the ultimate experiment in nature vs. nurture by Tomasi and Snejbjerg.

Cover A from Reis showcases the mysterious Mr. X-Ray, with fellow Ghost Machine creator Gary Frank showing off Mr. X-Ray’s wilder side with Cover B. Cover D features Mike Deodato Jr.’s first variant art for Ghost Machine of a terrifyingly mischievous Pranky. Deodato Jr. is best known for his distinct art on DC and Marvel titles alike, including Wonder Woman, Dark Avengers, Infinity Wars, The Incredible Hulk, and The Amazing Spider-Man. Two additional variant covers will be available, from Inkpot Award-winning Batman artist Kelley Jones, and Reis, respectively.
While the monthly series centers on the threats walking Hyde Street, It Happened on Hyde Street: Devour provides a taste of what happens to its casualties. With an impending wedding, Lily needs to lose weight in order to fit into her wedding dress, and struggles to shed some pounds. And what’s worse, her super-thin grandmother relentlessly disparages Lily’s approach, instead lavishing praise upon a quick-fix miracle supplement called Devour, as hawked by the mysterious health guru Miss Goodbody. Her motto? Get thin… or die trying! In this weight-loss nightmare, when it comes to Devour…all you need is one. It Happened on Hyde Street: Devour marks Maytal Zchut’s gripping comic book writing debut, illustrated by French-born artist Leila Leiz, colored by Alex Sinclair, and lettered by Rob Leigh. Reis displays Miss Goodbody’s scary-good sales skills with Cover A, with Leiz presenting what it means quite literally to devour with Cover B, and Frank showing what frights lurk in the shadows on the scale with Cover C.
