See more sides of the story with The Legend of Vox Machina: The Whitestone Chronicles Volume 2 — Cassandra

Dark Horse Books, Critical Role, and Amazon MGM Studios have revealed the second volume in the hit Whitestone Chronicles series, The Legend of Vox Machina: The Whitestone Chronicles Volume 2—Cassandra. This second graphic novel is written by Marieke Nijkamp, with art by Travis Hymel, colors by Diana Sousa, and letters by Comicraft.

Critically injured and seemingly abandoned by her brother after the murder of her family, Cassandra de Rolo finds herself at the mercy of Whitestone’s usurpers. Much to her shock, Delilah and Sylas Briarwood treat her with the utmost care—almost like a daughter—as she recovers within the relative safety of her own childhood bedroom. On edge and suspicious of their motives, Cassandra adapts to survive while processing the trauma of her family’s demise and Percy’s abandonment.

The Briarwoods delight in parading Cassandra around the city in an attempt to convince the despairing populace of their benevolence. Instead of becoming their paragon of obedience, Cassandra unwittingly becomes the guiding light of the rebellion attempting to rescue Whitestone, particularly in the eyes of her childhood friend and rebel leader, Archie. Cassandra vows to do whatever she can to help her beloved home, but are the ghosts of her past powerful enough to overcome the ghosts in her present, or will the Briarwoods’ brainwashing drown out all reason?

The Legend of Vox Machina: The Whitestone Chronicles Volume 2—Cassandra (80 pages, 6.625” x 10.1875”, hardcover) arrives in bookstores and comic shops on March 10 and 11, 2026. It is now available for pre-order at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and your local comic shop and bookstore for $19.99.

Is Image Teasing a Daggerheart Comic Series?

Image Comics posted a teaser today of a D12 die with text saying more would be revealed later this week. It’s a guessing game right now as to what the series would be but a best guess would be a comic series based on the new tabletop roleplaying game Daggerheart published by Darrington Press.

The game uses two D12 dice, one Hope and one Fear to determine the outcome of actions and with a D12 die shown, it’s a good guess that’s what’s being teased. Dungeons & Dragons recently announced a move to Dark Horse for comics and Pathfinder and Starfinder comics are published by Dynamite. Neither of those use a D12.

Daggerheart launched in 2023 by lead game designer Spenser Starke and additional designers including Rowan Hall, Matthew Mercer, Alex Teplitz, and Michael Underwood spinning out of the popular tabletop roleplaying series Critical Role. Critical Role does have comics based on their adventures released by Dark Horse. The Daggerheart Core Rulebook was released on May 20, 2025.

With Justin Jordan sharing the teaser, could he be writing what should be a popular series?

Sideshow reveals a Essek Thelyss – Mighty Nein Statue

With a specialty for the dangerous unknown, Essek Thelyss is a skilled mage whose arcane abilities come to aid the Mighty Nein in their travels across Wildemount. He appears elusive and arrogant at first, but his interactions with the party show him a new kind of magic — friendship and forgiveness.

The Essek Thelyss – Mighty Nein Statue by Sideshow is an enchanting addition to the official Critical Role collection. Measuring 13.29 inches tall, 8.4 inches wide, and 9 inches deep, this fully sculpted, three-dimensional collectible puts the spotlight on the Shadowhand of the Kryn Dynasty.

The Essek Thelyss – Mighty Nein Statue brilliantly captures his charismatic confidence as he channels the art of dunamancy, which is the power of potentiality, chance, and fate. Essek wears a dark cloak overlaid with ornate silver shoulder armor, and beneath it is a set of Xhorhasian-styled garments that complement his purple complexion. His handsome elven portrait features short white hair and silver ear jewelry. He appears to hover above a hexagonal faux-stone base engraved with the Mighty Nein monogram, showing his allegiance to the team of adventurers.

Don’t leave this up to chance! Add the Essek Thelyss – Mighty Nein Statue to your Critical Role collection. Available to pre-order now!
