Wizkids has released a preview of the Hawkgirl figure for it’s upcoming Heroclix release Brightest Day.

Heroclix Brightest Day HawkgirlHawkgirl is a close combat fighter.  From the Wizkids website:

Her Master Aerial Combatant Trait is certainly useful when targeting your opponents’ fliers, and the opening click of Super Strength and Charge make for a great combined asset. Also, later on in her dial Hawkgirl demonstrates her skills with ancient weapons (represented by both Flurry and Blades/Claws/Fangs) as well as her decades of experience fighting hand-to-hand (Close Combat Expert).

Lastly, Hawkgirl’s consistent combat values  and the late dial Regneration helps ensure that she can continue the fight and bring justice on swift wings to those who oppose you!

The big question in DC is after Brightest Day is over, who will be the new White Lantern?  It’s possible that Heroclix might have let the cat out of the bag as to who the new champion might be.

Thanks Gfest for the catch.  A photo of the figure is below the fold so as to not ruin the surprise for everyone.

The DC Source blog posted the cover for the second issue of Brightest Day featuring a certain underwater hero.  The cover is by recently signed exclusive DC artist David Finch and is cool enough to have us intrigued and wanting to check it out.

“Brightest Day’ is about second chances. I think it’s been obvious from day one that there are major plans for the heroes and villains from Aquaman to take center stage in the DC Universe, among many others, post-Blackest Night. ‘Brightest Day’ is not a banner or a vague catch-all direction for the DC Universe, it is a story. Nor is ‘Brightest Day’ a sign that the DC Universe is going to be all about ‘light and brighty’ superheroes. Some second chances work out…some don’t.”
