NYCC 2012 – Aspen Comics Heads to the Big Apple

Aspen Comics is returning to the Big Apple and New York Comic Con on the eve of their tenth anniversary, and have released their schedule of events and exclusives for the weekend. Creators Frank Mastromauro, Peter Steigerwald, JT Krul, Greg Pak, Alex Konat, Khary Randolph, Emilio Lopez, Cory Smith, Jordan Gunderson and more will be taking part in Aspen’s plans for the weekend including the Official Aspen Comics Panel 2012 and creator signings at the Aspen Comics Booth #1213 throughout the weekend.

Aspen has revealed that the all new Aspen mini-series Charismagic: The Death Princess will see its world premiere at the convention three weeks prior to its official release date with an exclusive Charismagic: The Death Princess #1 NYCC 2012 variant by Khary Randolph and series artist Emilio Lopez, limited to 300 copies.

The publisher is pleased to announce a very special appearance by supermodel and Idolized series cover model Rachel Clark, along with cover photographer, Michael Schwartz. The pair teamed up to provide an exclusive Idolized #3 NYCC Photo Cover for the convention, limited to 300 copies, and will be appearing at the Aspen Comics Booth #1213 on Saturday from 2pm to 3pm.

Along with the special Idolized #3 variant cover, Aspen will also be offering an Executive Assistant: Assassins #4 NYCC exclusive cover limited to 300 copies, and featuring all new cover art by Alex Konat, and Beth Sotelo. Konat will also be appearing all weekend long at the Aspen Comics Booth #1213.

The final Aspen Tour Print of 2012 will be available at the Aspen Booth #1213 all weekend long, along with an all new series of Aspen’s industry-leading art prints featuring Aspen’s most popular cover art and characters.

The Official Aspen Comics 2012 panel is on Friday from 1:30-2:30 in Room 1A01 and will feature the very first inside look at the company’s “10 for 10” initiative, the most ambitious project yet for Aspen on the eve of their 10 year anniversary. Aspen’s Frank Mastromauro, Peter Steigerwald, J.T. Krul, Greg Pak, Alex Konat, Cory Smith, Jordan Gunderson, Khary Randolph and Emilio Lopez will showcase the early releases for the “10 for 10” initiative, as well as other Aspen releases for 2013, including the “Executive Extinction” crossover event, the publisher’s first novel, “The Lost Spark”, and much more.

Aspen Comics Returns to Canada for Fan Expo 2012

Aspen Comics will be returning north to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for this year’s Fan Expo 2012 with top creators, limited Fan Expo exclusives, and a special Aspen panel workshop.

Creators Frank Mastromauro, Peter Steigerwald, Joe Benitez, J.T. Krul, Nei Ruffino and Alex Konat will be appearing throughout the weekend at the Aspen Comics Booth #841 to sign autographs, meet with fans and provide complimentary free sketches courtesy of the publisher and its creators.

Aspen will be offering two highly limited exclusive books for Fan Expo 2012. Michael Turner’s flagship title Fathom will have a special Fathom #7 Fan Expo 2012 exclusive cover by Aspen founder Michael Turner and superstar colorist Peter Steigerwald. The publisher will also be offering an Executive Assistant: Assassins #3 Fan Expo 2012 exclusive cover by Canada’s own Marcus To along with Peter Steigerwald, limited to only 300 copies. Aspen encourages fans to arrive early to ensure their copies of these popular exclusives.

The Aspen Comics Booth #841 will also have an all new series of their industry-leading art prints debuting at Fan Expo, including the special Aspen Tour Print Fan Expo 2012 edition by Michael Turner and Peter Steigerwald, limited to an extremely low 30 editions. Aspen Comics Celebrates Free Comic Book Day 2012

Aspen Comics will be commemorating the annual Free Comic Book Day by attending various events and signings all across the country. Aspen creators Peter Steigerwald, Vince Hernandez, Joe Benitez, Alex Konat, Mike DeBalfo, Oliver Nome, Tony Parker, JT Krul, David Wohl and David Schwartz will be celebrating the day with the release of the Worlds of Aspen 2012 Free Comic Book issue. The Worlds of Aspen 2012 issue will feature two never-before-seen Aspen properties, the supernatural teen action-adventure series Homecoming, by creators Michael Turner, David Wohl and Scott Lobdell and Idolized by David Schwartz. In addition to the all new stories, the Worlds of Aspen 2012 issue will offer a first glimpse at Aspen’s new series coming up including Zooniverse, Shrugged Volume 2, Charismagic: The Death Princess, and Aspen’s first ever ongoing series, Executive Assistant: Assassins. The Free Comic Book Day issue also includes previews of popular Aspen titles Fathom, Soulfire and will feature a special centerfold pinup of the red hot Aspen character Lady Mechanika. Aspen Comics Launches New Fathom Series and More at C2E2

This year’s C2E2 Comic and Entertainment Expo on April 13-15th will see the debut of Aspen Comics’ new series Fathom: Kiani and more at the Aspen Comics Booth #511. Aspen creators Frank Mastromauro (Shrugged, Soulfire), Joe Benitez (Lady Mechanika, Soulfire), Alex Konat (Fathom, Mindfield) and more surprise guests will be on hand at the Aspen Comics Booth all weekend long to meet fans, sign autographs and offer the latest convention exclusive comic books and art prints.

Aspen will be offering a special Fathom: Kiani #1 C2E2 exclusive cover featuring a never-before-seen cover by Aspen founder and Fathom creator Michael Turner with colors by superstar colorist Peter Steigerwald, limited to 500 copies. Michael Turner’s Fathom Kiani launches this April and C2E2 attendees will be able to get their exclusive copy of the first issue before it hits stores.

The Aspen Tour Print 2012 featuring art by Turner and Steigerwald will also be available at the Aspen Comics Booth along with two additional new art prints and other industry-leading prints of Aspen’s most popular covers and characters from titles such as Fathom, Soulfire, Lady Mechanika, Executive Assistant: Iris and more.

The Official Aspen Comics Panel will take place in room N426a from 11am to 12pm on Saturday, April 14th and will include Aspen creators Frank Mastromauro, Joe Benitez, Alex Konat, Khary Randolph, Emilio Lopez and Franchesco. The Aspen team will reveal upcoming summer plans for new releases and answer questions directly from the fans. All panel attendees will receive a free gift courtesy of Aspen Comics.
