The Walking Dead Spin-Off Gets a Two Season Order
AMC has announced that the still untitled The Walking Dead spin-off has already gotten a two-season order. The Walking Dead is currently the #1 show on television among adults 18-49.
While a title isn’t set (some have said it’ll be Fear The Walking Dead), we do know the show will be set in Los Angeles and feature new characters. The series will premiere much like The Walking Dead did, and will have six one-hour episodes and will launch late summer. The second season will air in 2016.
Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert from The Walking Dead are executive producers of the new series, which, like the original, is being produced by AMC Studios. Dave Erickson, who co-created and co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman, is an executive producer and showrunner. The series will star Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey.
The main series has hinted that things were going on in other parts of the zombie apocalypse, and with this series we’ll find out and see as the world “turns.”
In addition, AMC Global, the international AMC-branded television network, announced it has acquired the international television rights to the series, which it plans to air within 24 hours of the U.S. premiere.

This is smart that way they have a real chance at some good stories and are not a monster of the week spin off.
I think it’s also interesting they’re following a similar pattern as the original series (though that didn’t have the guaranteed second season).
thats true but with the sucess of the curent series it should be knock out, but it depends on the writers the actors can only do so much with the material. The stories and charecters are really strong on the current series. If that’s not the case with the spin off it wont work.
