NYCC 2023: Mondo reveals some awesome exclusives including Superman The Movie vinyl soundtrack and Omega Red from X-Men: The Animated Series

NYCC is officially here, and while Mondo isn’t making to to the show, they’ve revealed some awesome online exclusives!

Mondo‘s Superman The Movie Original Soundtrack returns as an NYCC exclusive box set, featuring a new vinyl variant bundled with DC’s Superman ‘78, a brilliant continuation of the story by Robert Venditti, Wilfredo Torres and Jordie Bellaire. Limited to 500 copies, it comes in a newly designed clamshell with artwork by the legendary Joe Quinones and Paolo Rivera. (This new box set will also get a wider standard release a little later.) 

The wait is over for Mondo’s exclusive Crimson Variant of Dark Horse Direct’s Doom Slayer 1/6 scale figure, limited to just 666 figures. Ditto for the latest addition to the X-Men: The Animated Series 1/6 scale line … complete with two sets of carbonadium tentacles, Omega Red joins the X:TAS baddies in a limited edition of 1000.  

And to make Omega Red’s release even sweeter, the newest Marvel repro features the living weapon himself … X-Men #7 by the great Jim Lee arrives in limited edition regular and foil variant screenprinted posters. 

All NYCC exclusives will be available Thursday, October 12 at 12 NOON CT on The Drop … only at MondoShop.com.

Sabretooth gets animated with Mondo’s X-Men: The Animated Series figure

Last year, Magneto became the first baddie in Mondo‘s X-Men: The Animated Series 1/6 scale line. Now, Mondo is adding some muscle to its Brotherhood of Evil Mondo Mutants. 

Wolverine’s ex-Team X teammate, Sabretooth was transformed into a towering archenemy capable of hunting Logan to the ends of the Earth. This week, we’re giving you two options to add him to your collection: a deluxe Timed Edition and a Regular Edition. Available for one week only, our Sabretooth Timed Edition includes exclusive extras like his blaster and an additional portrait … plus a handy muzzle to lock this hellcat down! 

The pre-order for both the deluxe Timed Edition and Regular Edition is now live on The Drop at MondoShop.com. The Timed Edition will be available until Tuesday (6/6) at 11:59 AM CT.

The X-Men ’97 team join the Hellfire Gala with a Variant Cover

A special variant cover for July’s X-Men: Hellfire Gala #1 will give eager fans a sneak peek at Marvel Studios’ X-Men ’97, the upcoming Disney+ series and sequel to the iconic X-Men: The Animated Series. Dan Veesenmeyer, a storyboard artist on the original series and the illustrator behind the packaging for Hasbro’s recent Marvel Legends 90s Animated Series line, captures the excitement behind the X-Men’s animated heyday in this stunning cover. The piece spotlights the main cast of the show including Magneto, who will join the X-Men in the series. Mondo reveals an X-Men: The Animated Series Gambit figure!

Mondo kicked off its X-Men: The Animated Series 1/6 scale line in 2021 with Wolverine, before adding Magneto last year and Jubilee in January. This week, Mondo has announced that its fourth mutant figure is none other than the Ragin’ Cajun himself Gambit!.  

The cagey Thieves’ Guild loner who’s explosive as he is mysterious, Remy LeBeau’s Gambit has never been cooler than in Marvel’s XTAS. This new figure pays tribute to his kinetic prowess, with four portraits plus all his favorite weapons. And we couldn’t resist nods to some of our favorite episodes, including the inhibitor collars from “Slave Island” and a Mystique portrait inspired by “Days of Future Past.”

Based on the beloved X-Men: The Animated Series from the ‘90s, our Magneto 1/6 scale figure is ON SALE NOW and is the follow-up to last year’s Wolverine and is the next addition to Mondo‘s growing line.

Magneto comes with a slew of awesome, swappable (and magnetic) accessories, including several portraits based on his various appearances in the series, as well as a bendable “metal” pole that can be used to tie up those pesky X-Men! 

In addition, Mondo also celebrates the iconic X-Men: The Animated Series with a new poster by the x-cellent (so sorry) Phantom City Creative.
