Wizard World New Orleans Attendees To Receive The Walking Dead #1 Cover By Michael Cho

walking dead michael choWizard World and Skybound, Robert Kirkman‘s imprint at Image Comics, have announced that cartoonist/illustrator Michael Cho will draw the first in a yearlong series of Limited Edition Exclusive Variant Covers of The Walking Dead #1 comic, to be provided free to all full-price attendees at Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con, January 9-11.

The exclusive The Walking Dead #1 edition will be produced in extremely limited quantities and is available at registration to fans at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center only while supplies last. VIP attendees will receive an additional black & white sketch version of the comic.

Cho, based in Toronto, has drawn covers and stories for books like Batman Black and White, Age of the Sentry and X-Men First Class for Marvel and DC. His comic story Trinity was selected by editor Neil Gaiman for the Best American Comics anthology in 2010 and he’s won a few other awards and nominations for his comic work. Michael has also put out an art book of his drawings, Back Alleys and Urban Landscapes with Drawn & Quarterly and his latest graphic novel Shoplifter from Pantheon Books debuted in September.

The artists for future books will be announced as they are selected.

Reedus, Somerhalder, Wesley, Felton Among Top Celebrities At Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con, January 9-11

Ian SomerhalderWizard World gets its 2015 schedule off to a big start with its fifth trip to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center at Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con, January 9-11. Norman Reedus, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Welsey, Tom Felton, Brett Dalton, Kevin Conroy, WWE Divas The Bella Twins, Michael Cudlitz and Sarah Wayne Callies headline the roster of celebrity guests scheduled to attend the pop culture extravaganza.

Reedus, Felton, Dalton and Cudlitz will attend on Saturday and Sunday, January 10-11; Somerhalder, Wesley and the Bellas will appear on Saturday only; Conroy and Callies are scheduled for all three days of the event.

Other well-known Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con guests include Mark McGrath, Caity Lotz, the Charmed trio of Holly Marie Combs, Shannen Doherty and Brian Krause, Morena Baccarin, William Kircher, Scott Wilson, Michael Rooker, Andrew J. West, Karyn Parsons, Jason David Frank and Lou Ferrigno.

Wizard World is also the home of the most creative comics artists and writers on the planet. Artist Alley at New Orleans Comic Con will feature Mark Bagley, Pasqual Ferry, David Baldeón, Michael Cho, Phil Ortiz, Ken Kelly, Joe Caramagna, Ethan Van Sciver, Rob Guillory, Kody Chamberlain and many others.

In addition, all full-price Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con attendees will receive a limited edition exclusive variant cover The Walking Dead comic, drawn by one of Wizard World’s talented artist guests (to be announced shortly). Comics will be issued at registration while supplies last and VIP attendees will receive an additional black & white sketch version.

Zenescope’s 2014 Age of Darkness Tour

zenescopeZenescope Entertainment has announced its tour dates for the 2014 Age of Darkness TourAge of Darkness encompasses their Grimm Fairy Tales series which features classic characters and locales (Wonderland, Neverland, Oz, Robyn Hood, Red Riding Hood, Van Helsing, Captain Hook, the Dark Queen, etc) that have all been operating in their own titles. Age of Darkness books bring these characters together in a modern setting for a story that will have an impact the Zenescope titles across the board. The culmination will be in Grimm Fairy Tales #100. Let the countdown begin!
