Wizard World, Inc. and Skybound announced that Love & Rockets creator Gilbert Hernandez has drawn the seventh in a yearlong series of Limited Edition Exclusive Variant Covers of The Walking Dead #1 comic, to be provided free to all full-price attendees at the inaugural Wizard World Comic Con Las Vegas, April 24-26.
The exclusive The Walking Dead #1 edition will be produced in extremely limited quantities and is available at registration to fans at the Las Vegas Convention Center only while supplies last. VIP attendees will receive an additional black & white sketch version of the comic.
Hernandez’s Love & Rockets has been translated into French, Japanese and many other languages, and has received numerous awards for excellence. The book collections from Fantagraphics have garnered almost nothing but rave reviews from fan and mainstream press alike for over a decade. Hernandez’s early comics featured a passel of fascinating females, but the one who commanded center stage in every respect was Luba, who first appeared as an ambitious “voodoo woman” in the science fiction pastiche BEM.
Stars of The Walking Dead TV series scheduled to attend Wizard World Comic Con Las Vegas include Norman Reedus, David Morrissey, Steven Yeun, Emily Kinney, Michael Cudlitz, Seth Gilliam and Michael Rooker. Other standout celebrities attending include Tom Felton, Tom Mison, Arthur Darvill, Robert Englund, WWE Superstar Roman Reigns, WWE Diva Paige, Milo Ventimiglia, RJ Mitte and more.
In addition to Hernandez, Artist Alley in Las Vegas will feature Salvador Larroca, Neal Adams, Mike Zeck, Phil Ortiz, Michael Golden, Clay Mann and many others.
Wizard World Comic Con Las Vegas show hours are Friday, April 24, 3-8 p.m.; Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
