Comic Book Legend Stan Lee To Attend Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con On Sunday, June 1

Stan Lee, the legendary comic book writer, editor, actor, producer, publisher, and current Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of POW! Entertainment, will make a special appearance at Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con on Sunday, June 1 ONLY at the Georgia World Congress Center. Lee, a member of both the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame and the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame, will meet fans, sign autographs and pose for photographs. Special VIP packages are available.

Lee joins such notables attending as Karen Gillan (“Doctor Who,” Guardians of the Galaxy), Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker of “The Walking Dead,” James Marsters (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” “Torchwood”), Milo Ventimiglia (“Heroes,” Rocky Balboa), WWE® Superstar Big Show®, Darryl McDaniels “D.M.C.” (“Run-D.M.C.”) Jason David Frank (“Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers”), and Robert Knepper (“Prison Break,” Hitman). WWE Superstar Big Show To Attend Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con, Saturday, May 31

The inaugural Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con just got a lot “bigger” as The World’s Largest Athlete, WWE Superstar Big Show, will attend Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con on Saturday, May 31, at the Georgia World Congress Center. It will mark the first Wizard World appearance for the 7-foot-tall, 441-pound, larger-than-life WWE Superstar who will sign autographs and pose for photo ops from 12:30-2:45pm and will participate in a Q/A session from 3:00-3:30pm.

Big Show’s appearance in Atlanta follows those of other WWE Superstars at recent Wizard World Comic Cons, including Sheamus, Randy Orton, John Cena, WWE Diva AJ Lee and others.

Reminiscent of such Goliaths as Andre the Giant and Big John Studd, Big Show is a feared competitor who intimidates opponents with his size and stare alone. The World’s Largest Athlete’s measurements are astounding: he wears a 22 EEEEE size shoe and boasts a 64-inch chest. The man from Aiken, South Carolina who was discovered at a charity basketball game by Hulk Hogan has met some of the biggest stars in sports face-to-face in the middle of a WWE ring. He has even taken on boxing champ Floyd Mayweather and NBA All-Star Shaquille O’Neal to the delight of millions of fans around the world.

The World’s Largest Athlete is also no stranger to film and television roles. His film credits include 2010’s starring role as Walter Krunk in the WWE Studios family comedy Knucklehead alongside and an All-Star cast including Mark Feuerstein, Melora Hardin, Dennis Farina and Wendy Malick. He has also appeared in the feature films MacGruber, Jingle All the Way, Reggie’s Prayer, Little Hercules in 3-D and Waterboy. In addition, Big Show has guest starred on popular television shows including USA Network’s Burn Notice, Nickelodeon’s Supah Ninjas, Brain Surge, Saturday Night Live, and Star Trek: Enterprise.

Amazing Spider-Man #1 Exclusive Variant Cover By John Tyler Christopher For Atlanta Comic Con

Marvel Comics and Wizard World‘s latest edition of its 2014 series of exclusive variant covers of the best Marvel titles with the unveiling of Amazing Spider-Man #1, drawn by noted artist John Tyler Christopher. VIP attendees at Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con, May 30 – June 1 at Georgia World Congress Center, will receive a free copy of the limited-edition book at registration.

Christopher is scheduled to be on site at the event to sign copies (autograph fees may apply). Leading professional comic grader CGC will also be on hand to accept books for grading and Signature Series.

The colored version of Amazing Spider-Man #1 will be limited to 3,000 copies and provided free at registration to all Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con VIP attendees, including any celebrity VIP packages.

Tyler’s Amazing Spider-Man #1 follows the first three entries, Miracleman #1 and Miracleman #2, both drawn by Eisner Award Hall of Famer Neal Adams for Wizard World Portland Comic Con (Jan. 24-26) and New Orleans Comic Con (Feb. 7-9), respectively, Wolverine #1, illustrated by noted cover artist Greg Horn, for Wizard World Sacramento Comic Con (March 7-9). Artwork is also complete for the upcoming Daredevil #1 by Michael Golden for Wizard World Louisville Comic Con (March 28-30) and Wolverine & The X-Men #1 by David Mack for Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con (April 4-6).

Christopher is an illustrator from Seattle, Wash., currently based out of Atlanta. A member of Studio Revolver, his work has appeared on the covers of Witchblade, as a designer for Star Wars Miniatures, and in the pages of Dungeon & Dragons, a variety of White Wolf publications & Mutants and Masterminds.

Karen Gillan of Doctor Who to Attend Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con

Karen Gillan, who portrayed Amy Pond, in the landmark British television series Doctor Who, and portrays the mercenary Nebula in the upcoming blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy, will appear at Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con on Saturday, May 31, at the Georgia World Congress Center. Gillan will greet fans, sign autographs, pose for photo ops and conduct an interactive Q&A during the event.

The former model appeared in Series 5-7 of Doctor Who, beginning in 2010, as the new companion to the eleventh Doctor Matt Smith. The Inverness, Scotland, native has added numerous theater roles, starred in the film Not Another Happy Ending last year, is a regular on Adult Swim’s NTSF:SD:SUV.

Some of Gillan’s other standout works include a theater role as Shirley in the John Osborne play Inadmissible Evidence, the horror film Oculus, and Not Another Happy Ending, an indie romantic comedy.

Zenescope’s 2014 Age of Darkness Tour

zenescopeZenescope Entertainment has announced its tour dates for the 2014 Age of Darkness TourAge of Darkness encompasses their Grimm Fairy Tales series which features classic characters and locales (Wonderland, Neverland, Oz, Robyn Hood, Red Riding Hood, Van Helsing, Captain Hook, the Dark Queen, etc) that have all been operating in their own titles. Age of Darkness books bring these characters together in a modern setting for a story that will have an impact the Zenescope titles across the board.
