Zootopia and London Has Fallen Deadpool to Third

zootopia-movie-posterZootopia was this weekend’s winner with Walt Disney Animation Studios‘ largest three-day opening ever. The film earned an estimated $73.7 million to come in first place. The film currently has a 98% score on RottenTomatoes and an “A” CinemaScore so expect it to do well for a while.

Also debuting was London Has Fallen which came in second to earn an estimated $21.714 million. That’s about $9 million less than its predecessor Olympus Has Fallen.

Also debuting was Whiskey Tango Foxtrot which came in fourth and a bit below expectations earning an estimated $7.6 million.

With the two debuts coming in first and second, Deadpool fell to third in its fourth week. The film brought in $16.4 million to bring its domestic total to $311.2 million. Its foreign box office total is $362 million to bring its worldwide total to $673.2 million.

Deadpool currently is the domestic top earning film when it comes to “X” films, is about $140,000 away from being the top film when adjusted for ticket price inflation, and it’s second when it comes to unadjusted worldwide grosses, about $75 million short from taking that top spot.

Disney Reveals Big Hero 6 Licensed Items and Toys

Disney today revealed toys you can expect for Walt Disney Animation Studios‘ new action-packed comedy-adventure Big Hero 6. The movie debuts this November and is one of our most anticipated movies of the fall. How can you not smile after seeing every trailer, clip, and ad?

The story follows robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who learns to harness his genius thanks to his brilliant brother Tadashi and their like-minded friends: adrenaline junkie Go Go Tamago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred. When a devastating turn of events catapults them into the midst of a dangerous plot unfolding in the streets of San Fransokyo, Hiro turns to his closest companion – a robot named Baymax – and transforms the group into a band of high-tech heroes determined to solve the mystery.

Bandai has created a new toy line that extends the key themes of heroism, courage, friendship and bravery in Big Hero 6 that features action figures (such as the Deluxe Flying Baymax and Armour-Up Baymax) and plush toys. The line also allows kids to become their favorite Big Hero 6 characters through role-play toys including the Baymax Rocket Fist and masks. You can see images of all of that below.

Additionally, Disney has collaborated with several other licensees for a range of new products including: a home range with story featuring bottles, lunch boxes, bowls, plates and cups; peel and stick wall decorations by Roommates; wall coverings by York and Big Hero 6 panel designs through Character World Ltd; Baymax kites, pouches, notebooks, kid and adult t-shirts, and canvas backpacks from WDSMP Premiums; apparel and accessories; and a Pocket Money range including Big Hero 6 watches, caps and sunglasses from Imagin 8.

The movie is inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, though deviates from the comics of the past. The movie is directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams, and produced by Roy Conli.

We’re predicting this movie is going to go huge, and these items to fly off shelves. Check out some of the images of what you can expect below!
