Marvel’s Heroes are Transported to Fantastical Worlds in Isekai Variant Covers

This August, Marvel’s Stormbreakers take the heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe out of their element and into fantastical new worlds in Isekai Variant Covers!

“Isekai,” Japanese for “a different world,” is a subgenre popular in manga, anime, and video game storytelling in which a protagonist is transported to another realm. The Stormbreakers’ imagination runs wild with the concept across these new covers, pulling Marvel characters into strange settings and depicting them with striking new designs and powers. The new collection arrives just ahead of the Marvel Mangaverse 25th anniversary one-shots, five special one-shots revisiting the world of Marvel Mangaverse and introducing new manga-inspired versions of iconic Marvel heroes.

Marvel reveals more Amazing Spider-Man #1000 Covers

The countdown to Amazing Spider-Man #1000 continues today with new variant cover reveals! On sale September 16, the highly anticipated milestone issue, destined to take its place in comic book history, delivers both a major turning point for Joe Kelly’s run and an incredible lineup of anniversary stories celebrating Spider-Man’s legacy. As fans have been buzzing about online, the landmark issue will feature two main covers, one from each of the current run’s lead artists. Legendary artist John Romita Jr. joins acclaimed illustrator Paolo Rivera for a stunning painted cover, while modern superstar Pepe Larraz delivers a striking traditional piece. Both artists are also contributing variant covers for the issue. Larraz’s variant cover was unveiled last month, while Romita Jr.’s will be revealed next week.

Amazing Spider-Man #1000 will also feature a spectacular lineup of variant covers from some of the industry’s most celebrated artists. Revealed today are a foil variant cover by Ed McGuinness inspired by John Romita Sr.’s Amazing Spider-Man #100 cover, a dynamic new piece by Skottie Young, a stunning cover from J. Scott Campbell, a cover by Ryan Stegman spotlighting the new supervillain Ravage, and the final piece in Lee Bermejo’s acclaimed Amazing Visions cover series.

One of the issue’s special anniversary stories comes from comic book legend Larry Lieber, who helped shape the very foundation of the Marvel Universe, including work on some of Spider-Man’s earliest stories. Lieber teams up with acclaimed artist Giuseppe Camuncoli in “Of Webs and Six-Guns,” a story spotlighted on Camuncoli’s newly revealed variant cover.

Also unveiled are a MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls Variant Cover featuring Peni Parker from the upcoming game and a Marvel Animation Variant Cover showcasing an iconic scene from the original 1967 Spider-Man animated series.

Amazing Spider-Man #1000 features stories written by Joe Kelly, Noah Hawley, Frank Miller, Dan Slott, J.M. Dematteis, Brian Michael Bendis, Larry Lieber, and more. And features art by Pepe Larraz, John Romita Jr., Patrick Gleason, Peach Momoko, Marcos Martin, Humberto Ramos, Stuart Immonen, Giuseppe Camuncoli, and more.

Marvel reveals more covers for DNX #1

EVOLUTION IS CONTAGIOUS!

This September, the X-Virus is unleashed and it’ll take the combined genius and power of the X-Men and Fantastic Four to stop it from forcibly mutating humanity in DNX, a five-issue event series from superstar writer Jed MacKay and acclaimed artist Federico Vicentini. Seeded from the very start of MacKay’s acclaimed run, years of buildup culminates in this shocking mutant milestone that erupts across the Marvel Universe with far-reaching consequences for the fragile balance between mutantkind and humanity.

DNX #1 will feature True Believers Blind Bags, special sealed bags that contain exclusive variant covers not available for regular ordering, including rare, one-of-a-kind, hand-drawn sketch covers from surprise contributors. The final DNX #1 variant covers are now unveiled, including both open-to-order covers and blind bag exclusives.

Among the covers revealed today are stunning pieces by two of today’s most exciting cover artists, Fanyang and Puppeteer Lee, spotlighting Psylocke, Magik and Invisible Woman. Lee’s cover will be a regular orderable cover while Fanyang’s striking piece will be a True Believers Blind Bag exclusive. Leinil Francis Yu’s X variant cover is also revealed today, a black and white version of which will be a True Believers Blind Bag exclusive.

Additional Blind Bag exclusives revealed include a wraparound cover by illustrator Chris Giarrusso that pays homage to Whilce Portacio’s classic Uncanny X-Men #281 cover, a Marvel Rivals Variant Cover by NetEase Games showcasing Rogue’s iconic Savage South skin from the hit game, and an Animation Variant Cover featuring artwork from Marvel Animation’s X-Men ’97. The latter arrives just ahead of the acclaimed show’s highly anticipated second season, premiering July 1 on Disney+. For collectors, two Blank Variant Covers will also be available, one as a regular open-order edition and the other as True Believers Blind Bag exclusive.

Marvel reveals Five Skottie Young New DNX #1 Covers

This September, the X-Men and Fantastic Four join forces to stop the supervillains of 3K from unleashing the X-Virus on humanity in DNX, a five-issue event series from writer Jed MacKay and artist Federico Vicentini. The new mutant milestone is the latest Marvel Comics launch to feature True Believer Blind Bags, special sealed bags that contain exclusive variant covers not available for regular ordering, including rare, one-of-a-kind, hand-drawn sketch covers from surprise contributors.

True Believers Display Boxes will also be available. Each box contains 20 copies of DNX #1: 19 True Believer Blind Bags plus a sealed, display box-exclusive variant cover by Skottie Young available only in True Believers Display Boxes. The cover is part of a series of five variant covers Young created for DNX #1.

In his signature style, Skottie Young celebrates the latest team-up between Marvel’s First Family and Marvel’s Merry Mutants with a series of delightful character mashup covers! The cover featuring Cyclops and Mister Fantastic is available for regular ordering, while the covers featuring Kid Omega and Human Torch, Magik and Invisible Woman, and Juggernaut and Thing are True Believers Blind Bag exclusives. Rounding out the set is a cover featuring both the X-Men’s Beast and 3K’s Beast, A.K.A. the Chairman, which can only be found in DNX #1 True Believers Display Boxes.
