Baltimore Comic Con 2014: BOOM! Heads East

2014 BOOM! LogoAward-winning comic book publisher BOOM! Studios is excited to announce it will return to the city of Orioles, crab cakes, and The Wire this year to once again exhibit at Baltimore Comic-Con, which will take place at the Baltimore Convention Center in Maryland, during the weekend of September 5-7.

BOOM! can be found at booth number 2001 and will host the following creators all weekend:

  • Josh Hechinger (The Grave Doug Freshley)

The publisher is also sponsoring the appearance of comics legend George Pérez, whose first original series in over 10 years, George Pérez’s Sirens, will debut at the show with an exclusive BOOM! Studios variant cover.

Studios creators also appearing at Baltimore Comic-Con include Brian Stelfreeze, David Petersen, Eric Powell, Frank Barbiere, James Tynion IV, Jeremy Bastian, Justin Jordan, and Marguerite Bennett. BOOM! Studios Comes Out in Full Force for Mike Carey’s Only U.S. Convention: Baltimore Comic-Con

Garfield_17_CVR_BaltimoreBOOM! Studios continues its 2013 convention tour with a return to Baltimore Comic-Con from Saturday, September 7th through Sunday, Sunday 8th. The publisher will be bringing along a pair of exclusive variant covers along with fan-favorite talent.

BOOM! Studios is honored to host luminary author Mike Carey at its booth, #1303, for signings throughout the show for his only United States comic book convention appearance in 2013.

In addition, KaBOOM! Studios is equally excited to welcome Natasha Allegri, Mike Holmes, Noelle Stevenson, Ian McGinty, Travis Hill, and Allison Strejlau signing and sketching at the KaBOOM! Studios booth all weekend long. The publisher will also be hosting Paul Jenkins, Brian Stelfreeze, Matt Gagnon, Mike Kunkel, and Eric Esquivel throughout the weekend along with signings by Archaia creators, including David Petersen and Charles Soule.

Newly acquired imprint Archaia Entertainment will be on hand at the BOOM! Studios booth with a section devoted entirely to their titles.

SPOTLIGHT ON MIKE CAREY – Sunday, 1:00pm-2:00pm
Eisner Award-winning writer Mike Carey’s work spans comics, novels, film, and television. Carey made his initial impact in the U.S. comic market with the longest running and most successful SANDMAN-related spinoff series from Vertigo: LUCIFER. Since then, he’s solidified himself as a nuanced, character-driven creator on other critically acclaimed Vertigo series such as CROSSING MIDNIGHT and THE UNWRITTEN; while becoming a mainstream fan favorite on series like X-MEN and ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR. This year, Carey launched his first ongoing, original series from an independent publisher: SUICIDE RISK from BOOM! Studios. Join BOOM! Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon as he moderates a lively discussion with Carey about his career, his process, and his inspirations.

BOOM! Studios Heads to Calgary Expo And C2E2

Two conventions, two countries…one weekend. BOOM! Studios takes its 2013 convention tour multi-country the weekend of April 26th by exhibiting at both the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo and C2E2.

The Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo takes place Friday, April 26th from 12pm to 8pm, Saturday the 27th from 10am to 7pm, and Sunday the 28th from 10am to 5pm. It is taking place at the BMO Center located at 20 Roundup Way SE, Calgary, AB T2G 2W1.

BOOM! Studios is thrilled to host Paul Jenkins, Michael Alan Nelson, and Eric Esquivel at the BOOM! booth # 200 all weekend long. Fans of all-ages comics won’t want to miss the opportunity get an original sketch at the KaBOOM! booth #400 from Mike Holmes, Zack Sterling, and Travis Hill. The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) 2013 is being held in the West Building at McCormick Place located at 2301 S. Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, Illinois. On Friday, April 26th the show will run from 11am-7pm, on Saturday the 27th from 10am -7pm, and on Sunday, April 28th from 10am – 5pm.

BOOM! Studios has teamed up with Mighty Fine and will be sharing a booth at the show, booth #909. New All-Ages Magazine Debuts Nationwide In May With Spotlight on CARS

New York, NY – February 14, 2011—Marvel and Disney Publishing will debut DISNEY•PIXAR PRESENTS, a new monthly magazine featuring some of the most popular characters from the acclaimed Disney/Pixar films.  Intended for readers of all ages and priced at $5.99, the first issue will hit stores in May 2011.

Each issue of the magazine contains 96 full color pages of content, including a mix of brand new stories, classic adventures, puzzles, games and more.  Featuring characters from Disney/Pixar’s hit movies Cars, Cars 2, The Incredibles, Toy Story 3, and more, DISNEY•PIXAR PRESENTS will be available at  bookstores, retail chains, comic stores and more.  The series debuts with DISNEY•PIXAR PRESENTS: Cars Magazine #1
