Wednesdays are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in!

Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!

Annihilation Scourge: Beta Ray Bill #1/Annihilation Scourge: Silver Surfer #1 (Marvel) – The return of Marvel’s cosmic has been entertaining so far and though the creative team has been different from the previous Annhilation events, it feels like a solid follow up.

The Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child #1 (DC Comics/DC Black Label) – Frank Miller’s latest chapter in his take on Batman.

Far Sector #2 (DC Comics/DC’s Young Animal) – The first issue introduced us to a new Green Lantern and a brand new world. It was an amazing opening with great writing and fantastic art. We’re excited to see where it goes.

Doom 2099 #1/Spider-Man 2099 #1 (Marvel) – Marvel’s return to the world of 2099 has been weird but we’re holding in hoping it all becomes clearer.

Dying is Easy #1 (IDW Publishing) – A new series from Joe Hill and Martin Simmonds follows a disgraced former cop turned stand-up comic turned felon? We’re intrigued.

The Goon #7 (Albatross Funnybooks) – One of the most fun series out there right now.

Rai #2 (Valiant) – One of the best new series of the years. It’s not too late to get in on this which focuses on the future of the Valiant universe.

The Red Mother #1 (BOOM! Studios) – BOOM! has been rocking the new series with each seeing numerous sell-outs. We’re in for this new horror series.

Symbiote Spider-Man: Alien Reality #1 (Marvel) – The first volume surprisingly worked as it explored a new chapter during Spider-Man’s blacksuit days. We’re hoping for more of the same fun.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #100 (IDW Publishing) – Hitting such a huge number, we’re excited to see what IDW has in store.

Undiscovered Country #2 (Image Comics) – The first issue was fantastic as a world contingent entered a United States that has been cut off from the world for decades. The reveal was completely unexpected and promises a wild ride.

Batman: Last Knight on Earth #2 (DC Comics) – The first issue of this series was amazing. It’s the future where something calamatous happened and Batman begins on a journey with just the Joker’s head in a jar to join him. Is this something he’s hallucinating? Reality? The comic will keep you guessing as to what’s happening.

The Batman Who Laughs #7 (DC Comics) – The miniseries wraps up and leads into the upcoming Superman/Batman series. The miniseries has been up and down but we’re excited to see how this wraps up.

Dear Justice League (DC Comics/DC Zoom) – This line of graphic novels geared towards kids have been fantastic and we’re always excited to see what’s next. This middle-grade graphic novel has superheroes answering questions about their lives in a series of short stories.

Death’s Head #1 (Marvel) – This comic was unexpected. Really funny with some solid art. Death’s Head has been torn apart and tunred into an amp. Now he wants revenge!

The Goon #5 (Albatross Funnybooks) – One of the most fun and entertaining comics on the market. Think Popeye with humor and horror and you have The Goon. Add in beyond amazing art and it’s a must get with every release.

Killers #1 (Valiant) – Five deadly assassins are recruited into a game of cat and mouse by the mysterious Jonin! The concept sounds awesome and Valiant delivers entertaining comics so we’re always excited to check out a new series from them.

Knights Temporal #1 (Aftershock) – From writer Cullen Bunn and artist Fran Galan the series is about a knight who’s sent to the modern world. The concept has been done but Bunn is a fantastic writer so to see his spin on this is what has us interested.

Manor Black #1 (Dark Horse) – Another comic from writer Cullen Bunn along with writer Brian Hurtt and artist Tyer Crook, this gothic horror series is about a family of sorcerers in crisis. Yeah, we’re sold.

Powers of X #1 (Marvel) – Writer Jonathan Hickman’s X-Men epic continues with this second of dual series that sets up his vision for years to come.

Red Winter #1 (Scout Comics) – Eli Winter is a former NYPD Detective in his 50s, now living in Kapotnya, the most crime-ridden district of Moscow. Eli also now works for a local crime boss. When Eli finds out his son destroyed his boss’s meth lab, we get a series that we’re excited to read.

AfterShock Shock Vol. 2 (AfterShock) – The anthology comic has entries from RL Stine, Garth Ennis, Jim Starlin, Larry Stroman, Szymon Kudranski, Marguerite Bennett, Jill Thompson, and more… like a brand new Flaming Carrot stroy by Bob Burden!

Ascender #3 (Image Comics) – The series is a fantastic follow Up to Descender and instead of taking on technology, this one focuses on magic. It’s an interesting opposite side of the same coin.

Canto #1 (IDW Publishing) – There’s been a lot of hype around this six-issue miniseries. An enslaved people have had their hearts replaced with clocks and Canto must brave the world to get a girl back her heart.

The Goon #3 (Albatross Funnybooks) – The Goon is an amazing mix of humor, action, and horror, and its return has been fantastic. So much fun with every issue. It’s a horror-ish Popeye and a must for comic fans.

Marilyn Manor #1 (IDW Publishing/Black Crown) – The President’s daughter throws a rager at the White House in 1981… yeah, we’re in for this one.

Operation Overlord #1 (Rebellion/2000AD) – The graphic novel series is translated into English for the first time. It’s four tales set during the Normandy landing on D-Day. Sounds really interesting and really good timing for release.

Road of Bones #2 (IDW Publishing) – The first issue was amazing as prisoners attempt to escape a Russian gulag and the infusion of horror makes it something else.

Samurai Grandpa #1 (Source Point Press) – A retired samurai must wield his blade again to save his granddaughter. It just sounds fun and the cover looks fantastic.

Steel Cage #1 (AHOY Comics) – Three comic stories enter and one leaves! Fans can read this comic and then vote as to which story they want to become a series after!

Transformers/Ghostbusters #1 (IDW Publishing) – Both properties are celebrating 35 years this year and coming together for this miniseries. The concept sounds silly but we’re in to see where it goes.

Acclaimed novelist Chuck Palahniuk continues one of his most beloved works with Fight Club 2, only in comics. This special FCBD short story revisits the final moments of the groundbreaking novel and is a great precursor to the new series launching in May. Multiple Eisner Award-winner Eric Powell takes the Goon and Franky on an unexpected detour and The Strain (now a hit show on FX) examines one of the Master’s most terrifying allies with writer David Lapham and artist Mike Huddleston at the helm.

2015 promises to be Dark Horse’s biggest FCBD event yet, with not one, but two free comics, each packed full with three separate stories. Stay tuned for more details on the Free Comic Book Day: Silver Edition!
