It’s a repeat of 1, 2, 3 as Moana 2 takes first at the weekend box office

Moana 2 took first place at the weekend box office with an estimated $52 million. That’s a 62.8% drop from the previous weekend that saw big drops for all top three films. But still, the movie has grossed a bit over $300 million domestically after a little over two weeks. Internationally, the movie grossed $134.7 million over the week to bring that to an even $300 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed a bit over $600 million so far.
Wicked took second place with an estimated $34.9 million to bring its domestic gross to $320.5 million. Internationally, it grossed $38.2 million over the week to lift that to a little over $135 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $455.6 million.
Gladiator II remained in third place with $12.5 million domestically. It has grossed $132.7 million after three weeks. Internationally, it grossed $26.9 million over the week to bring that to $235.7 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $368.4 million.
Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2 debuted in fourth place with $9.3 million.
Red One rounded out the top five with a little over $7 million and it has now grossed $85.8 million domestically. Over the week, it grossed $5.6 million to bring that total to $78.2 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed just under $164 million.
Solo Leveling: Reawakening debuted in seventh place where it grossed $2.4 million domestically. Internationally, it has grossed $1.7 million for a worldwide total of $4.1 million.
In comic film news…
Venom: The Last Dance added $676,000 to its domestic total which is now $139.1 million. Internationally, it grossed $3.4 million to bring that to $333.7 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $472.8 million.
Transformers One remained at $59.1 million domestically. It gained about $500,000 internationally over the week and is now at $70.3 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $129.4 million. With a budget between $75-147 million, the film’s success will be debated and will rely heavily on toy sales to truly determine.
Deadpool & Wolverine remained at $636.7 million domestically. Internationally, the movie is still at $701.3 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $1.338 billion.
My Hero Academia: You’re Next is still just over $5 million domestically. The film is also still at $27 million internationally. Worldwide the total is a little over $32.1 million.
Joker: Folie à Deux‘s domestic gross remained $58.3 million. Internationally the film remained at $148.1 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed just over $206.4 million.
The Crow‘s domestic total remained unchanged with being just under $9.3 million. Internationally, the movie remains at just over $14.7 million. The worldwide total is now just under $24 million.
The week’s overall box office success…
Numbers have 65 films earning $137,230,815 from 30,297 theaters. That’s a massive decrease from the previous weekend’s $276,753,489 from 23,795 theaters and 51 films. The week saw all of the major releases see a pretty big tumble. The average earning was $4,529.52 which is a big bump from the previous weekend’s $11,630.74.
