Skybound, in partnership with game publisher Com2uS, has revealed a first look at Summoners War: Awakening #3 from writer Justin Jordan, artist Luca Claretti, and colorist Igor Monti. The latest issue of the comic series based on the hit RPG mobile game will be available in comic book shops this June.  

Rai, Tomas, and Tatakana join Captain Eve’s crew as they set off towards a war-ravaged village carrying provisions and aid for the town. But Eve has ulterior motives, and Darcassian knows where she’s headed.

Summoners War: Legacy #3 Goes to Battle in a First Look

Image Comics and Skybound, in partnership with game publisher Com2uS, have unveiled a look at Summoners War: Legacy #3 from writer Justin Jordan and artist Luca Claretti with colors by Giovanna Niro and lettering by Deron Bennett. The battle for the land of Alea continues on June 23.

The highly anticipated tie-in comic book series Summoners War: Legacy—by writer Justin Jordan and artist Luca Claretti with colors by Giovanna Niro and lettering by Deron Bennett (Excellence, Assassin Nation)—is set to launch in April 2021 from Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment in partnership with game publisher Com2uS.

Fans of the game and newcomers alike will have the chance to journey to Alea in this dramatic, action-packed prequel comic book based upon the wildly popular Summoners War mobile game. Summoners War: Legacy comic series is the latest expansion to the Summoners War IP, along with upcoming mobile games Summoners War: Lost Centuria and Summoners War: Chronicles. The variety of expansions is a testament to the game’s success and longevity which proves to be a major tentpole for Com2uS’ gaming portfolio.

In Summoners War: Legacy, Rai knows there’s only one way out of a nothing town—to become a summoner! Armed with a summoning book of monsters, there would be nowhere she couldn’t go, and no adventure she couldn’t have. There’s only one problem: the world is at war and even untrained summoners like Rai must join the fight.

Summoners War is Coming to Comics in Summoners War: Legacy from Skybound

Game publisher Com2uS is teaming up with Skybound and Image Comics to create Summoners War: Legacy, a brand-new comic book series based on the worldwide mobile phenomenon Summoners War. Revealed during the “Skybound X Summoners War” panel at Skybound Xpo, Summoners War: Legacy is helmed by writer Justin Jordan and artist Luca Claretti, with colors by Giovanna Niro and lettering by Deron Bennett. It serves as an action-packed prequel to the Summoners War mobile game.

Fans who pre-order now will receive a “Con Exclusive” version of Summoners War: Legacy #1 for $10 USD, a special gold-foil issue that also comes with a redeemable in-game reward voucher for 200 Gems and three Scrolls. The con exclusive serves as a sneak preview into the larger Summoners War: Legacy comic book series, which will be published through Skybound and Image in the future.

Com2us Teams Up with Funko to Launch Summoners War Collectibles and More

Com2us has announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with Funko LLC to create a new line of Summoners War collectibles featuring the Pop! Vinyl style in addition to apparel, accessories and a range of digital products.

Under the agreement, Funko will reimagine the Summoners War universe and its iconic characters by integrating the design aesthetics of its best-selling Pop! lineup of collectible figures. This agreement also includes the design and manufacturing of apparel and accessories as well as digital products, such as emojis (still and animated), digital cards and Pop! Yourself— Funko’s 2D/3D custom avatar offering. Funko has agreed to sell the product line across its online channels and mobile app, as well as third-party platforms.

The agreement with Funko is Com2us’ second high-profile signing since the November 2017 announcement of its agreement with The Walking Dead creators, Skybound Entertainment. Com2us has continued to ramp up its collaboration efforts by engaging best-in-class companies to expand the Summoners War IP into new product and entertainment verticals.

Mass rollout for the new product range will be available worldwide. Additional details on the selection of the first collection of Summoners War Funko products will be revealed in the coming months.
