Celebrate the holidays with Star Wars Life Day Covers

Each November, the galaxy far, far away celebrates family, joy, and harmony on Life Day, and this year, Marvel will commemorate this longstanding Wookiee tradition by reflecting these values in all-new variant covers!

Gracing the covers of Star Wars, Star Wars: Darth Vader, Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, and Star Wars: Bounty Hunters, the four new Life Day Variant Covers come from artists Mike Del Mundo and Rod Reis and feature characters from throughout various eras of Star Wars storytelling, including nods to the original Star Wars Holiday Special. Fans can enjoy heartwarming moments like young Anakin Skywalker sharing a meal with his mother Shmi, Han Solo and Chewie decorating, Chef Gormaanda whipping up a delicious feast, and Doctor Aphra and Krrsantan reuniting for the season!

Marvel celebrates 10 years of Star Wars Rebels with new variant covers

It’s almost 10 years since fans were introduced to a new band of galactic heroes in Star Wars Rebels, and Marvel will celebrate the milestone with new variant covers by acclaimed artist Caspar Wijngaard. Depicting the beloved cast of the series, the Rebels 10th Anniversary Variant Covers will adorn issues of Marvel’s ongoing Star Wars and Star Wars: Darth Vader comic book titles from January to April. 

Set before Star Wars: A New Hope, the hit animated series chronicled the early adventures of the Rebellion and starred Jedi apprentice Ezra Bridger, pilot Hera Syndulla and her loyal astromech droid Chopper, Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren, and many more. The series also continued the saga of Ahsoka Tano and brought back Grand Admiral Thrawn to the Star Wars mythos. Since ending, Star Wars Rebels continues to impact Star Wars storytelling from appearances in comic books and novels to the new Ahsoka series, which catches up with many of the show’s central characters as they embark on exciting new journeys. Fans can also return to the Star Wars Rebels era by enjoying the complete series on Disney+.

Across Star Wars storytelling, droids have served a variety of roles ranging from loyal sidekicks to deadly enemies, but after this summer, fans will never look at them the same way again! Starting in July, Star Wars: Dark Droids is an all-new Marvel crossover event that kicks off when a new threat is unleashed throughout the galaxy, corrupting droids, cyborgs, and everything in-between! The saga will bring horror to the galaxy far, far away as droids of all allegiances and roles unite for a bold new purpose, causing chaos for the Rebellion and the Empire alike!

The highly-anticipated epic will be told across a main event series, Star Wars: Dark Droids, as well as tie-in issues of four ongoing series that are currently bridging the gap between the films The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi: Star Wars, Star Wars: Darth Vader, Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, and Star Wars: Bounty Hunters. The event will also include a spinoff series, Star Wars: Dark Droids – D-Squad. Written by Marc Guggenheim with art by Salva Espín and David Messina, the four-issue limited series will see R2-D2 reunite with his team of droid heroes to combat the menace that’s dominating their kind. 

Fans can see just how chilling things will become in Josemaria Casanovas’ new connecting cover. The six-part piece will adorn all six Star Wars: Dark Droids installments in August and spotlights a breathtaking lineup of iconic droids, all with glowing violet eyes and lenses, indicating that they’ve been tragically compromised by the malevolent entity known as the Scourge!
