SDCC 2013: ShiftyLook’s Lineup

NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc. has released its lineup of activities for San Diego Comic-Con 2013, held July 18-21 in San Diego, California. Taking over the terrace of the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter across the street from the convention center, the event space for ShiftyLook and its partners will be over 10,000 square feet of non-stop fun all Comic-Con long.  In addition to exhibitions from the ShiftyLook and Pac-Man teams from NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc., the event space will feature NAMCO BANDAI Group companies NAMCO BANDAI Games America, Bandai America Incorporated and D3Publisher. Further enhancing the activities, the ShiftyLook Freeplay Arcade will be set-up in cooperation with Namco Entertainment. In addition to NAMCO BANDAI Group companies, the space will feature ShiftyLook partners What Pumpkin Studios, Welovefine.com, Twitch and Olympusat.

There is no fee to enter the ShiftyLook space at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, but space inside may be limited due to capacity controls. The ShiftyLook space has a strict zero tolerance anti-harassment policy in effect and violators may be banned at ShiftyLook’s discretion without warning. ShiftyLook Heads to WonderCon Anaheim 2013

NAMCO has announced its lineup of events for WonderCon Anaheim 2013. Events will include appearances by Emmy Award winner Rob Paulsen, Annie Award nominee Dee Bradley Baker, Romi Dames and many of the Bravoman animation creative talent. ShiftyLook Announces Cast, Music and More for Upcoming Bravoman Cartoon

Namco Bandai Games Inc. announced the voice cast, musical lineup and more for its upcoming cartoon Bravoman: Super-Unequaled Hero of Excellence. Emmy Award winner Rob Paulsen as Bravoman, Alpha Man, additional voices, Annie Award nominee Dee Bradley Baker as Doctor Bomb, Anti-Bravo, additional voices and Romi Dames as Waya Hime, additional voices will bring the world of Bravoman to life when the cartoon releases Spring 2013.

In addition to its A-list cast, Bravoman also features an amazing lineup of musical talent, including the cartoon reunion of Rob Paulsen with Emmy Award-winning composer Randy Rogel for the Bravoman theme song. The duo has worked together on a number of songs, one of the most famous being Animaniacs fan-favorite Yakko’s World.

For the ending song, Go!! Fighting Action Power! (Theme from Bravoman), British gaijin rock band Area 11 performs the anime-inspired song composed by Area 11 leader Sparkles. Bravoman also features an original score by Tommy Pedrini, a musician who recently contributed vocals, beatboxing and additional composition to D3Publisher and WayForward’s Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!! game.

Bravoman was produced by Rob Pereyda and Jim Zub, directed by Jim Zub and Rob Pereyda and written by Matt Moylan and Jim Zub. Bravoman comic artist Dax Gordine also contributed as character designer for the cartoon. Halifax, Nova Scotia-based Copernicus Studios provided animation services and its creative director, Murray Bain, performed animation direction. Bravoman: Super-Unequaled Hero of Excellence! releases on ShiftyLook.com and other sites Spring 2013 and additional platforms thereafter.

ShiftyLook Premiers New Web-Comic Based on NAMCO’s Retro Video Game Series, Wagan Land!

The holidays are almost over and, while most of you may be finished opening your gifts this year, ShiftyLook has one more in store for you: the premier of their latest ShiftyLook web-comic, Wagan Land!

Based on the classic Namco platformer, Wagan Land follows the adventures of the mechanical dinosaur Wagan as he attempts to thwart the evil schemes and puzzles of Dr.Devil. Much like Bravoman this long-running game series has remained a Japanese exclusive to this day, making ShiftyLook’s comic Wagan Land’s official international debut!

Fittingly, the series will feature the hilarious writing of Bravoman‘s Matt Moylan, and will also mark the official ShiftyLook debut of Udon artist Rob “Robaato” Porter! NYCC 2012 – ShiftyLook Takes Over New York Comic Con 2012 With Huge Freeplay Arcade and Live Stage

Namco Bandai is bringing their ShiftyLook Freeplay Arcade to New York Comic Con 2012, with an extensive lineup of internet and geek culture icons, live events, music, video games and exclusive merchandise in hand. Located at Booth #3374, the ShiftyLook Freeplay Arcade will also showcase an array of products from the NAMCO BANDAI Group.

Making appearances on the ShiftyLook Live Stage will be the talent from ShiftyLook’s hit webcomic and cartoon titles: Rob Paulsen, Christopher Hastings, Anthony Clark, Alex Culang, Raynato Castro, Jim Zub, Erik Ko, Omar Dogan, Matt Moylan and Dax Gordine . A complete schedule of all the ShiftyLook events at New York Comic Con 2012 is available.

In addition to ShiftyLook’s guests appearing at events throughout the weekend, Hideo Baba, Zach Weinersmith, Dave Shabet and Dale North will appear on the ShiftyCast video podcast. ShiftyCast, along with all events on the ShiftyLook Live Stage, will be live streamed via Twitch TV.

For fans of chip music, some of the hottest members of the New York chip music scene will perform live sets on the ShiftyLook Live stage: Chillbrave, Decktonic, HeavyW8bit Championchip, Ricky Burgal and Rockman. With multiple sets for each artist, fans will want to keep coming back for more all weekend long.

The arcade includes original retro cabinets, new games, and the U.S. debut of three titles: Bravoman, Wonder Momo, and Legend of the Valkyrie. Whether it’s Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man or even the extremely rare Super Pac-Man, there is something for everybody at the ShiftyLook Freeplay Arcade.

The ShiftyLook Show Store will feature exclusive, never before seen merchandise, including brand-new shirts from Katamari, Wonder Momo, Bravoman, Legend of the Valkyrie and more. In addition to the ShiftyLook original designer T-shirts, the store will also feature special Pac-Man merchandise imported from the United Kingdom as well as the popular video game unit Pac-Man Connect & Play from Bandai America.

Katamari Webcomic Rolls Into ShiftyLook and NYCC 2012 Plans!

The video game Katamari is rolling on ShiftyLook in the form of a webcomic!  The team of Alex Culang and Raynato Castro will write and illustrate the brand-new whimsical adventures of the Prince and his friends. Namco Bandai Games Inc. made the announcement today and the new comic will be called simply Katamari and will be updated on Mondays and Wednesdays starting September 17, 2012. Katamari and many other hit webcomics like Wonder Momo can be read free on http://shiftylook.com.

To celebrate the launch of Katamari, ShiftyLook will be hosting Alex Culang and Raynato Castro at the ShiftyLook Freeplay Arcade during New York Comic-Con, October 11-14, 2012. The duo will be debuting an exclusive Katamari t-shirt at the ShiftyLook Freeplay Arcade store in addition to participating in many events including the ShiftyLook Meet & Greet, a Katamari panel, an autograph session, an exclusive poster giveaway, and much more.

Namco Bandai just announced during the ShiftyLook Panel at San Diego Comic-Con this week three new webcomics titles and its first two web animation series. Announcements coincide with the re-launch of the ShiftyLook website and new retro-inspired logo. New titles will join nearly a dozen webcomics already available through ShiftyLook, including Bravoman, Dig Dug and Wonder Momo. Namco Bandai has announced their special events for San Diego Comic-Con 2012. Activities include an industry-only party, a huge freeplay arcade, an action-packed Saturday panel and a stage throughout the weekend filled with non-stop happenings.

The ShiftyLook Freeplay Arcade boasts Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug and over a dozen other arcade games. Located across the street from the San Diego Convention Center at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quater’s terrace, the arcade will open at 12:00PM daily and close at 6:00PM on Thursday, 10:00PM on Friday and Saturday, and 8:00PM on Sunday.

Kicking-off the convention on Thursday night will be ShiftyLook Presents the Most Retro Comic-Con Party (Ever!), taking over the arcade and entire terrace of the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, with ShiftyLook partners, press and comic creators present for a night of festivities. Although not open to the public, fans can follow along via the official Google+ Events On Air page: http://goo.gl/i6TZ9 for constant photos and video throughout the evening.
