All she wanted was to bring back the husband she has lost. Instead, she will unleash a new kind of evil into the world.

After her royal spouse was burned alive before her eyes, Queen Juliana turned her back on the gods of balance and pledged her life to the Wolf-God, Ulghir. In secret, she bled for him. In silence, she absorbed his teachings. And then, in darkness, she gave birth to two sons — one conceived in love, the other from black magic — thus setting in motion the tragic events that spell doom for the Realms of Ice and Fire!

Fire and Ice’s Evil Villain Nekron Stars in New Special!

The world of Fire and Ice expands further this December with a brand new special comic book focusing on the central villain Nekron. The classic film collaboration between Ralph Bakshi and Frank Frazetta continues the family legacy in this new release with Frank’s granddaughter Sara Frazetta leading the charge!

Lord Nekron is the tyrannical ruler of Icepeak. The son of Queen Juliana, he learned the dark arts of sorcery from her and the pair conspired to kidnap Teegra. Nekron’s powerful magic allows him to move entire glaciers, kicking off the epic war between his lands and Firekeep. In the events of the film, his evil brings him face to face with both Larn and Darkwolf.

In this new story, Sara Frazetta reveals the twisted origin of one of fantasy’s most terrifying villains. Across 28 luscious pages of story, fans will follow this cautionary tale of grief, rage, and the ultimate corruption of ambition.

To bring Frazetta’s script to the page, artist Geof Isherwood joins the team. The legendary illustrator, painter, and writer is known for his tenures on top titles like Doctor Strange, Namor the Sub-Mariner, Suicide Squad, The ‘Nam, and he’s no stranger to swords and sorcery by way of his prolific contributions to stories of Conan the Barbarian, another shared work with Frank Frazetta’s career.

This stellar creative team is complemented with hauntingly handsome covers by superstars Dan Panosian, Jae Lee, and Steve E. Gordon.

A fabulous fourth cover is available exclusively as part of a mystery blind bag variant! Each of these bags includes two separate copies of the issue, both of which are exclusive to the Blind Bag — one Blank Authentix edition, and also one of five unique variant cover art editions. 70% of bags will feature the mystery fourth cover with trade dress, with others may include black and white lineart or “virgin” variations on the other three revealed covers.

Fire and Ice: Nekron follows and complements a flagship comic series for the franchise, as well as a previous character special focused on Teegra, with top creators including Bill Willingham, Leonardo Manco, Gabriele di Caro, and others contributing.

More than 50 years ago, legendary fantasy artist FRANK FRAZETTA ushered the now-iconic Vampirella onto the pop culture stage with his singular cover painting for Vampirella Magazine #1. Now, in 2023, SARA FRAZETTA brings her grandfather’s legacy full circle as she takes the reins on a brand new series starring Drakulon’s Favorite Daughter!

Expecting a trap, Vampirella and her young companion are not disappointed — but they also get more than they bargained for in this thrilling adventure!

Written by SARA FRAZETTA and BOB FREEMAN and illustrated by ALBERTO LOCATELLI, this brand-new miniseries is steeped in gothic horror, complete with a sinister mansion, a mist-enshrouded graveyard, and a bevy of witches, ghosts, werewolves, and ancient satanic magicks. SDCC 2023: Vampirella’s Frazetta Family Legacy Continues!

Just over 50 years ago, the one and only Vampirella made her debut under an iconic cover and contributions to her design from Frank Frazetta, the master of modern fantasy art. Now today Dynamite is excited to announce the next step in that legacy, as Frank’s grandaughter Sara Frazetta takes on the Daughter of Drakulon as both writer and cover artist of a prestige series due out this fall and winter. Don’t miss Vampirella: Dead Flowers!

As a co-founder of the Frazetta Girls, Sara has carried on her grandfather’s legacy with licensing, merchandising, education, and taking on the artistic mantle herself. For this new title she is joined by co-writer and occult detective Bob Freeman and stunning artist Alberto Locatelli.

One of Vampirella’s age-old nemeses finally gives up the ghost, and that leads her to his rural Gothic estate of Rookhaven to hear out the last will and testament. Along the way, readers will get to meet the manor’s eclectic staff, from a mysterious groundskeeper and his even more cryptic young daughter, the sinister and enigmatic Mr. Frey, and more.

As mentioned, Sara Frazetta is not only writing the series, but follows in her family footsteps with a cover herself. She’s joined by Lucio Parrillo, Collette Turner, Ergün Gündüz, and interior artist Alberto Locatelli on additional covers. Plus, beloved cosplayer Rachel Hollon and a special “icon” presentation of the original Frazetta painting are available too.

In addition to the new series, Dynamite is releasing an amazing new vision of the very first Vampirella magazine appearance. This time and for the first time, rather than a straight facsimile approach of Frazetta’s cover, fan-favorite artist Matt DiMasi has been brought in for one of his “shattered” covers! Inside are the same history-making 64 pages that include Vampirella’s genesis as well as contributions by Neal Adams, Reed Crandall, Tom Sutton, Ernie Colon, and more. This unique collage or mosaic styled piece of art in homage to Frank’s masterpiece is an incredibly unique presentation of one of the biggest key issues!

VAMPIRELLA: DEAD FLOWERS #1 is slated for release in October 2023.
