Say it ain’t sew! A new mystery is afoot in The Great British Bump-Off: Kill or Be Quilt

Dark Horse Comics presents The Great British Bump-Off: Kill or Be Quilt, a new cozy mystery from John Allison and Max Sarin following up to their hit murder mystery series The Great British Bump-Off. Writer John Allison, illustrator Sarin, colorist Sammy Borras, and letterer Jim Campbell combine their skills in four issues for the perfect patchwork of comic hilarity. Issue #1 arrives Spring 2025 and will also feature a variant cover illustrated by Lissa Treiman.

When wildcat arson hits her new employer right where she lives, Shauna Wickle is drawn into the brutal and vindictive world of quilting, as sisterhood and community needlecraft deteriorate into internecine strife. With the promise of an end to all her financial worries, Shauna must cross enemy lines and infiltrate a cadre of “monsters in human skin.” But they seem so… nice?

The Great British Bump-Off: Kill or Be Quilt #1 (of 4) will be stitched together and released in stores on April 9, 2025. It is now available to pre-order from your local comic shop for $4.99.

Dark Horse Comics and John Allison whisk together a new Agatha Christie-style mystery set in the world of English competitive baking in The Great British Bump-Off. Max Sarin folds their art into John Allison’s scrumptious story, with Sammy Borras incorporating her color to create the light and fluffy, yet perfectly mixed new comic series.

When she enters her country’s most beloved baking competition, Shauna Wickle’s goal is to delight the judges, charm the nation, and make a few friends along the way. But when a fellow contestant is poisoned, it falls to her to apprehend the culprit while avoiding premature elimination from the UK Bakery Tent… and being the poisoner’s next victim!

The Great British Bump-Off issue #1 (of 4) springs into comic shops April 12, 2023. The first issue will also include a variant cover by Dan Hipp.

All four issues of The Great British Bump-Off will be collected in a paperback edition, available November 1, 2023. It will be available soon to pre-order at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and your local comic shop and indie bookstore.

Good, Evil, and Everything In-Between in Steeple Volume 3
