Yungblud and Z2 team for a third collaboration, Yungblud Presents Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club 3: The Funeral

Following his incendiary journey into sequential art with The Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club and Weird Times at Quarry Bank UniversityYungblud and Z2 Comics return with the third volume in the musician’s ballistic tales of super-powered outcasts rebelling against sinister boarding schools and beyond. Yungblud Presents Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club 3: The Funeral is co-written by Ryan O’Sullivan featuring interior art courtesy Annapaola Martello and Vasilis Lolos, with covers from Martello and Butch Mapa. This graphic novel serves as a cross-media experience alongside Yungblud’s single, “The Funeral,” released in March.

This new chapter builds off the gleefully irreverent, bitingly profane adventures of Yungblud and his super-powered coterie—the titular Ritalin Club—of Harmony, Scout, Zombie Joshua, Em, and Encore. After breaking free from the repressive constraints of Blackheart’s High School and navigating the horrors of Quarry Bank University, Yungblud will face his greatest foe: mortality.

Two years after saving the world from the Mangaverse, Yungblud died. No one knows how, only that it was enough to cause The Ritalin Club to disband and stop talking to each other. But as their old foe, The Spreading Darkness, has returned, more powerful than ever, it falls to Zombie Joshua to get the band back together. Everymember. Living or dead.

Z2 Comics and Yungblud present Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club 3: The Funeral in both softcover and deluxe clamshell formats, including a hand-signed edition of the book, four prints, and CD. Annapaola Martello and Butch Mapa provide cover art.

What sort of gibbering reprobate requires solicit information for the third chapter of a story? Why must I continue to write these? And don’t you dare respond citing “contractual obligations”. If we’re going to go down that route, then may I remind you that if it wasn’t for me, nobody would have heard of… [Message truncated once again, with apologies, at the request of Vault Comics].

After the stunning success of Fearscape, comes A Dark Interlude, the story of-No!

The only offense to literature greater than the loathsome synopsis is the sequel. I will not stand idle while some poor excuse for an editor mangles and confuses my story, which is intact, perfect, and concluded, with this derivative drivel. Mark my words, this nonsense has nothing to do with my tale. I am not in it. I do not condone it. And you, dear reader, should not buy it.

Comics Deserve Better Episode 8: Fearscape by Ryan O’Sullivan, Andrea Mutti, Vladmir Popov, and Andworld Design

Brian, Darci, and Logan court controversy yet again by discussing the news about the Keanu Reeves/BOOM! Studios KickStarter BRZKR as well as the announcement of the 4 Kids Walk Into the Bank film and the 2020 Ignatz Awards. But the main event of the episode is a discussion of Ryan O’Sullivan and Andrea Mutti‘s Vault Comics fantasy series Fearscape. Two of our hosts liked this book, but one was definitely drinking the haterade. You’ll have to listen to the episode to find out who’s who. Finally, other comics mentioned in this episode include Tartarus, Akagami no Shirayukihime, Grendel Kentucky, Ice Cream Man Presents: Quarantine Comix, Seance Tea Party, and Powers: The Best Ever. Yungblud Announces a Second Graphic Novel

Yungblud’s debut graphic novel, The Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club took the pop culture world by storm last year, selling out within days of its initial release, with fans scrambling to grab a copy. Today on his massively popular YouTube show, the young and influential English artist announces his return to comics with the sequel: Weird Times at Quarry Banks University.

From the same beautifully eccentric mind of music sensation Yungblud comes the follow up to last year’s breakout hit graphic novel, again pairing him with co-writer Ryan O’Sullivan of the White Noise collective that brings all of the same delightfully dark humor back to the page in Weird Times at Quarry Banks University. Now eighteen, and having graduated from Blackheart’s High School; Yungblud, plus his super-powered friends Harmony, Scout, Zombie Joshua, Em, and Encore are now enrolled as students at Quarry Bank University. At first, it seems like university life is all drugs, sex and relationship drama. But when a new foe with a familiar face arrives from the Manga Dimension, the Ritalin Club find themselves caught in a trip that may cost them their very lives!

Yungblud Presents: The Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club Volume 2: Weird Times at Quarry Banks University is co-written by Ryan Sullivan, with art by Derick Jones and Minomiyabl, and is available for preorder now in multiple editions. Visit the Z2 website now to order today in both standard and limited deluxe editions. This special 9×15 oversized book comes packaged in a gorgeous slipcase and includes an exclusive vinyl variant of the young artist’s upcoming album, with each copy signed by Yungblud himself in a one-time limited edition of 1,200.

Ryan O’Sullivan’s Fearscape Gets a Follow-Up with A Dark Interlude

Writer Ryan O’Sullivan has revealed that is Vault Comics series Fearscape gets a follow-up series this November called, A Dark Interlude.

Fearscape was very metatextual and playful. It was a genre fiction story that poked fun at itself. A Dark Interlude follows on from this – as a sequel all about the pitfalls of our current culture of neverending sequels/shared universes/franchises.

The simple high-concept is: “Imagine a modern-day, supernatural, Dark Fantasy story like Sandman or Swamp Thing, but with a lead character as unlikable, yet relatable, as Walter White from Breaking Bad.”

Check out a first look at the series below!

The story of Yungblud Presents The Twisted Tales Of The Ritalin Club was created by Yungblud and Ryan O’Sullivan and follows pupils attending Blackheart’s Boarding School. All students must be punctual, masked, and heavily medicated. The displaying of superpowers is strictly forbidden. Once per generation, The Muse travels to Earth, discovers our greatest Storyteller, and takes them with her to the Fearscape to battle these fear-creatures on our behalf. All has been well for eons, until The Muse encounters Henry Henry—a plagiarist with delusions of literary grandeur. Mistaking him for our greatest Storyteller, she ushers him into the Fearscape. A fake man in a fake land…this is the story of the wrong person answering the call to adventure, and the doom that followed.

After the tragic events of the third issue, the villainous Henry Henry finds himself… No! The advertising copy provided here by the publisher will not do! The events of our third chapter (please refrain from calling them issues) are hardly tragic. Our brave hero bested two villains, yet his reward is to be libeled against in marketing copy?
