Wednesdays (and Tuesdays) are new comic book day! Each week hundreds of comics are released, and that can be pretty daunting to go over and choose what to buy. That’s where we come in

Each week our contributors choose what they can’t wait to read this week or just sounds interesting. In other words, this is what we’re looking forward to and think you should be taking a look at!

Find out what folks think below, and what comics you should be looking out for this week.

Batman: Killing Time #1 (DC Comics) – A young Batman must deal with Catwoman, Riddler, and Penguin who have stolen a priceless artifact from him.

Black Panther #4 (Marvel) – The series has delivered a fantastic mix of political thriller and paranoia with superhero action.

Daredevil: Woman Without Fear #3 (Marvel) – Devil’s Reign as a whole has been fantastic including it’s tie-in series. This one focused on Elektra has delivered a sadness through all of the action.

Dark Knights of Steel #5 (DC Comics) – The series has been a fantastic “Elseworlds” take on DC characters with a lot of surprises and beautiful art.

Fitz and Cleo: Get Creative! (Henry Holt) – A cute graphic novel for young readers about two ghosts and their cat.

Nice House on the Lake #7 (DC Comics) – The amazing series is back and we’re ready to figure out what this mystery is all about!

Radio Spaceman #1 (Dark Horse) – A steampunk space adventure from Mike Mignola, Greg Hinkle, and Dave Stewart!

Rogue Sun #1 (Image Comics) – Image’s superhero universe expands as a son discovers his estranged father was a superhero.

She-Hulk #2 (Marvel) – The first issue was full of laughs and so many moments we all can relate to. A solid new series for the character that puts her again in the spotlight she deserves.

Strange #1 (Marvel) – There’s a new Sorcerer Supreme in the Marvel Universe!

War for Earth-3 #1 (DC Comics) – A lot of different storylines are coming together as Amanda Waller continues her plans and so many are trying to stop or help her.

Wrong Earth: Trapped on Teen Planet #1 (AHOY Comics) – The world of “Wrong Earth” expands as new creators dip into the superhero universe. Gail Simone with Bill Morrison, Walter Geovani, and Rob Lean kick things off with an alternate world of teenagers, malt shops, love triangles, and school dances!

What Could this Be at the end of Supermassive!?

This week saw the release of Supermassive by Image Comics. Spinning out of Radiant Black, Supermassive is that series’ first ever crossover event with the Image debut of Inferno Girl Red, and first appearance of Rogue Sun! It’s a brand new superhero universe!

The end of the comic featured the below two pages. What could it be? What’s your guess for this soon-to-be-announced series?

Rogue Sun Drops a Trailer Before Its Release

Hot on the heels of the exciting Supermassive one-shot kickoff to the expanding Radiant Black universe comes the highly anticipated Rogue Sun by Ryan Parrott and Abel in March—and fans are treated to a sneak peek of what’s to come with a very special video trailer drop.

Video edited by Alec Siegel and featuring a voice over by Joel Bryant, this pulse-pounding trailer gives fans a look at the Rogue Sun world ahead of the series launch this March.

Rogue Sun is Parrott’s first comic at Image—after lending his talents to 50+ issues of Power Rangers—and his is an original Image superhero for fans looking for a high octane, action-packed read. 

Rogue Sun kicks things into high gear when rebellious teenager Dylan Siegel discovers that the late superhero Rogue Sun was his estranged father, Marcus—and that he’s inherited his father’s mantle. Tasked with protecting our world from the forces of the supernatural—and solving his father’s murder—Dylan will be forced to come to terms with the man he’s spent the majority of his life hating. This new ongoing series is a supernatural murder mystery that explores the complicated bond between father and son and cements itself squarely in a corner of the Image Comics superhero universe. 

Readers new to the Radiant Black bandwagon won’t want to miss out on this exciting new entry-point into the contemporary superhero world best described as Invincible meets Power Rangers.

The Superhero World of Radiant Black Expands with Two New Series

Two momentous new releases will join Kyle Higgins and Marcelo Costa’s Radiant Black in the Image Comics superhero universe in February 2022.

The month will kick off with an eye-melting, page-turning crossover superhero event in Supermassive one-shot by writers Kyle Higgins, Ryan Parrott, and Mat Groom and artist Francesco Manna. Then, fans will be primed and ready to return to comic shops to get their hands on the pulse-pounding new ongoing series launch—Rogue Sun by writer Ryan Parrott and artists Abel and Chris O’Halloran.  

These two epic superhero drops will leave Radiant Black fans breathless and provide a jolt of high octane action to new readers interested in jumping in on the excitement. 

First, 2021’s hottest new superhero Radiant Black launches into his first ever crossover event with the Image Comics debut of Inferno Girl Red—spinning out of the highly successful Kickstarter—which is coming to Image later next year and the first appearance of Rogue Sun! Power Rangers: Shattered Grid architects Higgins, Parrott, Groom and Manna and colorist extraordinaire Igor Monti, unite for a one-shot, extra-length story so big it can only be called—Supermassive.
