The Truth is Still Out There as The X-Files Returns to Comics this Winter

Trust no one! Announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, Dynamite Entertainment and Disney Publishing Worldwide are teaming to return the classic franchise The X-Files to comics. All-new tales arriving this winter!

The franchise’s definitive modern writer in comics returns, with Joe Harris crafting even more thrilling cases for Mulder and Scully to investigate each and every month everywhere comics are sold. Harris has written more X-Files comic scripts than any other creator and is best known for his Season 10 and Season 11 storylines, published more than a decade ago. Longtime fans can look forward to more of Harris’s critically acclaimed take on the boundary-pushing, mind-bending science fiction that has long defined The X-Files. Beyond channeling the FBI’s fabled agents, Harris is known for his copious contributions to Marvel, DC, and on Alice Cooper comics with Dynamite.

Joining him for this new era of unclassified tales taking place after the show is artist Riley Brown. The up and coming penciler makes this big splash following work on titles like Dead Acre: Black Badge. His versatile stylings are set to bring the latest scintillating sci-fi to the comics page.

The X-Files had an incredibly influential run on television through the 1990s and beyond, with two films, multiple revival seasons, and spinoffs. The franchise also has history in comic books, with its procedural conspiracy and monster-of-the-week style storytelling being a perfect match for this other medium.

The comic series is set to debut this winter, and additional details on the stories being crafted by Harris and Brown will come shortly. Fans can follow Dynamite across all platforms and their favorite voices around the fandom to stay tuned.

Hunters of Sheydim

(W) Jeff Marvin (A) Riley Brown (C) Vinicius Townshend (L) Dezi Sienty & Sinisa Matic

Twin sisters Caterina and Lucia de la Vega—raised in Spain, reclaimed by their Jewish heritage—are recruited by Rabbi Eli Eidelman into an underground sect waging a war of containment. In this fight, Gehinnom isn’t a metaphor but a living hellscape where demons are born—and if they break through, Shamayim’s angels won’t just smite them, they’ll burn everything in their path. When the fragile alliance holding the line begins to crumble, the sisters are hurled into a battle spanning modern-day Israel, ancient Babylon, the ruins of Barcelona, and the depths of Gehinnom itself. Alongside rogue angels, broken prophets, and haunted warriors, they’ll face infernal bloodlines, ancestral secrets, and the question of who gets to write the end of the world.

Twin Demon Hunters, Ancient Secrets, and a War That Won’t Stay Buried. Hunters of Sheydim arrives in March from Golem Press

For centuries, humanity has unknowingly teetered on the edge of annihilation. Now, the fragile peace has shattered. The Lord of Demons, Asmodeus, has returned—and the only ones standing between him and destruction are two half-human, half-Nephilim Jewish twins trained since childhood to kick demon ass!

Golem Press has announced Hunters of Sheydim, an epic new 12-issue supernatural saga from writer Jeff Marvin, artist Riley Brown, colorist Vinicius Townsend, and letterers Dezi Sienty and Sinisa Matic. With editorial direction by Ori Ayalon and historical consultation by Rabbinit Dr. Tamar Marvin, this debut series merges apocalyptic horror, ancient mysticism, and brutal emotional stakes.

Hunters of Sheydim is a supernatural horror-thriller with something rarely seen in comics: Jewish demon hunters, rooted in Kabbalah and Sephardic history. This is a world where Dybbuks whisper from cellphones, Iron Golems battle Chemosh at Masada, and ancient prophecies come with a body count.

Hunters of Sheydim launches from Golem Press on March 18, 2026.

Rhett Bruno and Jaime Castle’s Dead Acre gets a graphic novel adaptation from Cullen Bunn and Riley Brown

Vault Comics will publish a graphic novel adaptation of Rhett Bruno and Jaime Castle’s hit weird western novella, Dead Acre. The first volume in the acclaimed, award-winning Black Badge series, Dead Acre is the story of James Crowley, an outlaw who met his mortal end in a hail of gunfire, and now finds himself in purgatory, serving the White Throne to avoid falling to hell. Not quite undead, though not alive either, the best he can hope for is to work off his servitude and fade away. His not-so-sacred duty as a Hand of God? Use his new abilities to hunt down demonic beings that have infiltrated the mortal realm.

The graphic novel is written by acclaimed writer Cullen Bunn, drawn by Riley Brown, colored by Fares Maese, and lettered by Andworld Design.

The 160 page, full color graphic novel will be available on September 16, 2025, and is available for pre-order now.
