Allplay Announces Three New Lines of Games

Allplay announced at a Gen Con that they are expanding their roster of games with three new product lines. The new lines (Masterworks, Epics, and Creations) will focus on heavy eurogames, large-scale adventure games, and IP/fandom-based games, respectively.

Ian O’Toole is working with Allplay on the “Masterworks” line. O’Toole will be a key partner in the art, graphic design, curation, and development of the project. The first Masterworks game will be a remake of Dominant Species.

Modiphius announces Two Discworld Board Games

Modiphius Entertainment is launching the pre-order of two new official Discworld board games; Kill Sam Vimes, a light board game of trainee assassins pursuing the impossible to kill Sam Vimes, and Readers Digested, a reimagining of Blue Moon City by Reiner Knizia set in the Unseen Library, on August 20, 2026.

KILL SAM VIMES

Kill Sam Vimes is a competitive strategy game for 2-6 players lasting around 60 minutes designed by Dom Westerland. Players take the role of trainee assassins, trying to complete the impossible – to get close enough to kill Sam Vimes!

Players will need to manoeuvre through the city, avoid Vimes’ traps, and outscore their rivals. The game ends when one House has had all of its assassins get into position to kill Sam Vimes, and the winner is the one who has gained the most house points across all of its assassins.

Pre-orders will also receive a bonus promo pack of four additional assassin cards, each with a unique special ability.

READERS DIGESTED

Reading week has arrived, and panicked wizards in training have descended on the Unseen University – and as assistant librarians, players must restore order and escort the wayward students to the exam hall.

A licensed reimagining of the eurogame Blue Moon City by Reiner KniziaReaders Digested is a 2-4 player game, taking 60 minutes to play. Available to purchase will be a standard version, as well as a deluxe version that includes upgraded components, as well as rules for solo play.

Pre-orders will also include a bonus game tile to add to the game.

Available to pre-order from Modiphius. Both games will also be available to pre-order via Gamefound Express at a later date.

Allplay Launches a New Edition Of High Society, Designed By Dr. Reiner Knizia

High Society

Allplay, publisher of board games like River Valley Glassworks, Mountain Goats, and Container, has released High Society.

The game is a new edition of the well-acclaimed auction game, originally released in 1995. Three to five players compete in auctions to gain points, earn point modifiers, and avoid negative cards. The player that bids the most across the entire game is eliminated; the remaining player that scores the most points wins.

While the core gameplay is largely unchanged, three new cards have been introduced in Allplay’s edition. These cards allow you to double your money before elimination or return money cards from the discard pile. The cards were designed by the original creator—Dr. Reiner Knizia.

High Society has an MSRP of $20.
