It’s a Weekend Box Office Repeat from 1 to 7
This past weekend at the box office looked a lot like the weekend before as the top seven was the same.
Spider-Man: No Way Home too first place earning an estimated $11 million domestically. The film has now earned $735.9 million. Will it cross the $800 million mark?
Internationally, the film crossed the $1 billion mark. It added about $33 million over the week to being that total to $1.003 billion. The film is the rare juggernaut having grossed $1.739 billion so far. The movies is now the fourth highest grossing film domestically and is about $25 million away from beating Avatar to move into third. It is in sixth place for worldwide gross, though is likely to remain in the spot as it’s $310 million away from the next film.
In second place was Scream which earned an estimated $7.4 million to bring its domestic total to $62.1 million. It continued its international run earning around $10.8 million to bring that total to $44.1 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $106.2 million after three weeks.
Sing 2 held on to third place earning an estimated $4.8 million to bring its domestic total to $134.5 million. The film has been a solid one remaining in the top five for all six weeks of its run so far. Over the week, the film grossed about $20.6 million to bring its international total to $133.4 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $267.9 million.
Redeeming Love remained in fourth place earning $1.9 million. It has grossed $6.5 million after two weeks. Internationally, the film has grossed $41,433. Worldwide, the film has grossed $6.6 million.
The King’s Man held on to fifth place earning an estimated $1.8 million, almost the same as the previous week, to bring its domestic total to a little over $34 million. The film grossed about $6.6 million over the week to bring its international total to $80.4 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed $114.4 million.
In comic films…
Eternals looks like it has ended its run with a domestic total $164.9 million. It also added about $50,000 at the international box office to lift that to a little over $237.2 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed just over $402 million.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage returned to theaters and added a bit to its domestic total. The film grossed about $200,000 over the week to bring its domestic total to $213.6 million domestically. The international box office remained steady at $288.5 million. Worldwide, the film has grossed a little over $502.1 million worldwide.
Initial numbers have 45 films earning $34,878,964 from 32,300 theaters. That’s a dip of about a quarter from last weekend’s 43 films which earned $46,059,869 from 31,970 theaters theaters. The average earning was $1,079.84 this past weekend, a drop from the previous weekend’s $1,440.72.
