VIZ Media Launches Free Sticky DOT Comics App for Kids

Sticky DOT comics, a proprietary app developed by VIZ Media, brings the best all-ages comics to the iPad with content featuring fan-favorite characters both familiar and new. Fans can securely browse, download and read a diverse collection of popular manga and graphic novels including full volumes of Pokémon, Mameshiba, Mr. Men Little Miss, Redakai and Voltron Force.

sticky DOT comics is available for free download through the iTunes Store. Individual volumes are available for purchase and download in the U.S. and Canada within the application for a debut price of $2.99-$3.99 per volume. Readers are encouraged to check the app regularly, as new series and volumes, as well as free previews, will be added frequently.

VIZ Media Launches New Redakai Graphic Novel Series

Redakai Volume 1 has stories by Aubrey Sitterson and Mike Raicht, with artwork by Write Height Media, Zack Turner and Dan Ciurczak, and follows the adventures of Team Stax as they race against competitors searching the world for mystical Kairu energy, the primal power of the universe.  In the hands of good, Kairu is a living energy that guides the universe. But in the hands of evil, Kairu is the most destructive power in the world. Those who can harness it can eventually obtain the highest rank of Kairu warrior: Redakai. In the first feature length adventure, “Invasion of the Gilfreem” by Aubrey Sitterson, Ky, Maya and Boomer investigate a mysterious source of Kairu and land smack in the middle of an alien invasion! But not everything is always as it seems. Is it really all up to Team Stax to save Earth from the Gilfreem? Then, in the second story, “Home, Kairu, Home” by Mike Raicht, there’s trouble on Boomer’s family farm. Is a rival team stealing animals to extract Kairu energy?!

SDCC 2012 – VIZ Media Invites Young Fans to Kids Day at San Diego Comic-Con

VIZ Media welcomes younger fans and the young-at–heart on Sunday, July 15th for Kids Day at the company’s expansive booth 2813 at the San Diego Comic-Con. The day will celebrate the company’s VIZ Kids imprint with a free graphic novel sampler, Voltron Force and Winx Club lanyards, and special guest appearances to delight visitors of all ages.

Fans are invited to meet artist Ray-Anthony Height, from VIZ Media’s new original graphic novel series, Redakai, who will make an in-booth personal appearance at 12:30pm. This will be immediately followed with an appearance by fellow Redakai artist Dan Ciurczak at 1:30pm.

Visitors are also invited to meet Voltron Force Vol. 1 graphic novel artist Jacob Chabot, who will be on-hand to meet fans of the series at 2:30pm.

Voltron Force fans are encouraged to come learn the fun new Voltron Dance at 11am and 3:30pm. The first 30 fans who attend each session receive a free copy of the Voltron Force Vol. 1 graphic novel.

Winx Club fans will also want to catch a special appearance by the Winx fairies. Come and meet Bloom, Aisha and Stella at 11:30am and 4pm.

VIZ Media Acquires Publishing License from Cartoon Network Enterprises and Spin Master Ltd.

San Francisco, CA, March 21, 2012 – VIZ Media, the largest distributor and licensor of anime and manga in the North America, announced today a deal with Cartoon Network Enterprises, the exclusive licensing agent for Spin Master’s full portfolio of brands, to create original graphic novels for Spin Master Ltd. and Marathon Media’s REDAKAI, the popular animated series and innovative trading card game.

REDAKAI follows the adventures of Team Stax as they race against competitors searching the world for mystical Kairu energy, the primal power of the universe.  In the hands of good, Kairu is a living force that guides the universe. But in the hands of evil, Kairu is the most destructive power in the world. Those who can harness it can eventually obtain the highest rank of Kairu warrior, a Redakai. Set in exotic locales with amazing battles, monstrous warriors, and super powers, the REDAKAI animated television series has been a hit for young boys 6-12 since its debut on Cartoon Network in July 2011.

VIZ Media will create and release original stories for REDAKAI in full color. The first graphic novel will be available in October 2012, with the second volume to debut in February 2013.

REDAKAI is a co-production from Spin Master Ltd. and Marathon Media, A Zodiak Kids company, and the animated series currently airs Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings on Cartoon Network. Spin Master launched the trading card game, featuring exclusive Blast3D™ technology, in Fall 2011. INDIANAPOLIS – July 19, 2011- Spin Master is excited to make its debut at this year’s Gen Con with the launch of its exciting new Trading Card Game, Redakai™ as well as featured games from Spin Master Games; Stomple™ and the 50th Anniversary of Stratego™.

Constructed Events

·         They will also have daily constructed events for Redakai experts to bring their custom collection of cards to take on all challengers.

Redakai Championship

·         The whole event culminates in their first ever Redakai Championship on Saturday morning

·         The winner will be named their first Champion and win an ipad2!
