Writer and Editor Danny Lore is a guest of AfroComicCon

AfroComicCon has announced writer Danny Lore will be among the Special Guests for the convention!

Danny Lore (they) is a queer writer/editor from Harlem and the Bronx. Their comic work, co-written with Vita Ayala, includes James BondIronheart 2020, and Quarter Killer. They’ve also written Queen Of Bad Dreams. When not working in comics, they are either writing short prose genre fiction spanning the gamut of SFFH or working with FIYAH Magazine.


AfroComicCon​‘s 1st virtual convention will be held on October 24, 2020. Due to COVID-19 concerns, the annual event started in 2017 by the ​Oakland Technology & Education Center (OTEC), ​will be held virtually and free through a portal on the organization’s website. Sponsored by the NNPA, the ​Oakland A’s, and Pixar Entertainment, AfroComicCon promises to be a day full of exciting panels, screenings, entertainment, gaming, cosplay and special guests. The 12-hour event is currently slated to be live-streamed across multiple platforms including YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook. You can register now.

Vault Unveils the Virtual Convention Vanguard Con, Launching Today

As part of Vault’s ongoing virtual convention, Vault Vanguard Con, the publisher announced a plethora of new online events that will take place over the next week.

First, Vault will hold a reddit AMA on the r/comics subreddit tomorrow, Thursday March 19th, from 4:00-5:00pm MST. Fans can ask the Vault team whatever questions they like and get advice on any comics-related topic under the sun. 

Then, over the next few days Vault will release a series of special videos from a wide array of Vault creators on their social media channels.

The videos from Vault creators will include:

Vault Comics Announce Line of Vault Vintage Covers for Every New #1 in 2019

Vault Comics announced the first issue for each new series will feature a unique Vault Vintage homage variant cover. Each Vault Vintage cover will be drawn and designed by Nathan Gooden and Tim Daniel. Vault Vintage variants will be open order variants.

Begun in 2018, the Vault Vintage cover line celebrates the artistic achievements of both modern and legendary comics artists. The back cover of each Vault Vintage cover features a detailed history of the original cover and the creative team who produced. Vault Vintage covers are designed to celebrate the creators and covers they honor, and to ensure readers learn about some of the most important moments in comics history.
