Comixstravaganza Live Comes Exclusively to Graphic Policy starting January

comixtravaganza2014 isn’t over yet, but plans are under way for 2015 and the first gets announced today. Starting January 7th Comixstravaganza Live joins the Graphic Policy team, and will be streamed live right here on this site and their website bigdaddycoolshows.com

This January “Big Daddy Cool” Johnny Dellarocca, “The Bombshell Kitten” Tina Veda, and “Darth Lee” LeeAnna Player return to the digital screen with the debut of Comixstravaganza Live from the Houdini Room at the Casa de Cool. The show is sponsored by Graphic Policy and Comic City Conventions!

In October of this year, Johnny, Tina and LeeAnna walked away from another popular web show. Although Tina and LeeAnna were new additions to the show that boasted 117 consecutive episodes, Johnny had been there from the beginning; serving as host and ersatz director.

When discussing this team-up Dellarocca said:

It was just time for a change. After producing someone else’s product for nearly 3 years, I just needed to focus on my brand and new endeavors. Comixstravaganza Live is one of the results of that process.

Dellarocca is best known for his work onstage as a new vintage variety artist, fusing music and magic with comedy and dance in a 1920s – 1940s style in what is described as “Dieselpunk.” He can be seen performing in theaters, at festivals and cons around the country. He is also the author of 4 books on magic and the producer and host of the Diesel Powered Podcast. The podcast on iTunes, which consistently is ranked in the top 10 performing arts podcasts. Comixstravaganza Live is the newest addition to Dellarocca’s BDC Entertainment imprint.

Joining Johnny, Tina, and LeeAnna is Amy Sulam and Paul Voigt of the Unlockable Characters, and Dee Volpe and Nancy Arch of Cosplay Collective. While Johnny, Tina and LeeAnna will cover hot picks of the week and Johnny’s trademark “Grinds My Gears,” Amy and Paul will be providing news and commentary in their trademark “sarcastic geek” style. Dee and Nancy will be on hand as the Cosplay experts and correspondents. Think Fallon meets SNL News, but focused on comics and pop culture.

Rounding out the team is Marc Ballard of Comic City Conventions, who has partnered with the Comixstravaganza team to bring their show and turn-key programming to cons and festivals around the country.

Comixstravaganza Live is the first addition to of live entertainment to the Graphic Policy website since the launch of Graphic Policy Radio three years ago. It also adds more additional pre-recorded video content, which our site has ramped up over on Graphic Policy Television via Youtube. The show will have a dedicated section on the website, and is the first of many new additions to the site in 2015 including contributors, programming and more.

Comixstravaganza Live debuts January 7th live from the Houdini Room at the Casa de Cool and you’ll be able to view it live right here at Graphic Policy.
