‘OVERKILL’S The Walking Dead’ PC Closed Beta Begins Oct. 9

Starbreeze, Skybound Entertainment and 505 Games have announced the PC-exclusive closed beta of OVERKILL’S The Walking Dead will begin on Oct. 9, 2018. The news was revealed in a developer livestream hosted by Global Brand Director Almir Listo and Executive Producer Saul Gascon, showcasing new footage* of the Underpass level recently previewed at gamescom.

Closed beta access is guaranteed with PC pre-orders of OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, available now via Steam and the game website. Players who purchase the game’s standard edition will receive a single closed beta invite, while deluxe edition pre-orders will receive four closed beta keys to share with friends. Additional closed beta details will be shared with the community soon.

Inspired by Robert Kirkman’s original graphic novels, OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a four-player co-op multiplayer shooter where players must band together on a variety of missions and raids to find survivors, secure supplies and stay alive. Use stealth to evade enemies tactically, or dismember walkers limb from limb with brute force and firepower. Each of the game’s four playable characters has their own special abilities, skill trees, squad roles, play styles and background stories.

OVERKILL’S The Walking Dead will launch globally on Windows PC on Nov. 6, 2018. It will arrive on the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One on Feb. 6, 2019, in the Americas and Feb. 8, 2019, in Europe and other territories. Console pre-orders are available now digitally and at most major retailers.

OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead Gets a Gameplay Trailer for E3 and Launches November 6

Starbreeze, Skybound Entertainment, and 505 Games have released the first official gameplay trailer for OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, the upcoming cooperative multiplayer FPS from developer OVERKILL – A Starbreeze Studio. The video also reveals the game is expected to launch on the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Windows PC on Nov. 6 in North and South America and Nov. 8 for the rest of the world, including Europe.

OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is available to pre-order now as a digital title on all platforms and as a physical boxed product for consoles only at most major retailers for $59.99. A steel book deluxe edition of OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, featuring the base game, the “Night Raid Character Pack” DLC, a variety of cosmetic skins, a digital art book and more, is also available to pre-order for $79.99. Players who pre-order either version will receive an assortment of in-game cosmetic skins as a bonus. As an homage to its comic book heritage, the physical steel book deluxe edition will also feature four collector cards illustrated by comic book artist Dan Panosian.

OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead Reveals Final Playable Hero: Heather

Starbreeze, Skybound Entertainment, and 505 Games have released the final cinematic character trailer for OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead from developer OVERKILL – A Starbreeze Studio. This newest video, perhaps the most brutal yet, reveals Heather, a hardened scout who rounds out your squad as the fourth playable hero. A kindergarten teacher in her old life, Heather has had to learn the hard way that the difference between right and wrong isn’t so clear in a world where humanity struggles to survive against the undead.

Starbreeze has also announced that OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead will be playable for attendees at E3, June 12-14, at Booth 5200 in the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead Reveals the Next Playable Hero: Grant

Starbreeze, Skybound Entertainment and 505 Games have released the latest cinematic character trailer for OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, this time revealing Grant, the third playable hero from developer OVERKILL – A Starbreeze Studio’s upcoming co-op FPS. Of all the survivors we’ve met so far, Grant may be the best prepared for the apocalypse – a steely outdoorsman who left city life behind to live out his golden years in the wilderness with his trusty scoped rifle. But as we find him back in Washington, D.C., searching for his lost family, it’s clear that while the world may have changed, the hunt is the same.

Inspired by the gruesome action of Robert Kirkman’s original graphic novels, OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a four-player cooperative multiplayer shooter in which players band together on a variety of missions and raids to find survivors, secure supplies and stay alive in a world where both the living and dead are a threat. OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead Developer Diary – Episode 1

Today sees the released of the first episode in a new series of developer diaries for OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead from Starbreeze, Skybound Entertainment, 505 Games, and developer OVERKILL – A Starbreeze Studio. This latest behind-the-scenes video takes an inside look at the creation of Georgetown, a key neighborhood in the game’s setting, Washington, D.C. You’ll learn more about how environmental storytelling is being used to capture the danger, suspense and tragedy of the rich universe established in Robert Kirkman’s original graphic novels.
