The Boys Omnibuses and Comics Come to Kickstarter

With the latest season of The Boys recently launched, Dynamite has announced a great new way for fans to jump into The Boys comic books and binge the original stories alongside the third season, with a pop-up shop on Kickstarter offering a ton of options to match everyone’s interests, including the deluxe way to read the series and rare collectible comics.

The Boys is now one of the biggest phenomena in the world, with Amazon’s smash hit TV adaptation on Prime Video. Now fans new and old can experience the original comic series for the first time, or once more in the most premium package. Also produced in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the series, The Boys oversized omnibuses are a deluxe presentation set of three hardcovers. The books measure at 7.4 by 11.1 inches, with larger pages and a dust jacket in the popular format for collectors. Writer and co-creator Garth Ennis played a role in bringing these volumes to life, and they will pair well for those readers who may already own his celebrated work on titles like PreacherPunisher, and Hellblazer in this form.

Across the three volumes, the entire 90 issue saga that ran from 2006 to 2012 is reprinted. The core story is joined in each volume by extras, including introductions, script excerpts, art process, and a gallery of every alternate cover. Each volume is around 800 pages. The first includes issues #1-30. Then the second includes #31-47, as well as both six issue companion miniseries Herogasm and Highland Laddie. With the former being a crucial part of the new third season. Lastly, the third book includes #48-72 and Butcher, Baker, Candlestickmaker #1-6.

On Kickstarter, all three volumes are available individually or all together for a deal. All are also available signed by writer Garth Ennis or artist Darick Robertson, or the ultimate collector’s package of all three signed by both. There will be limited stock available on some of the rarest previous The Boys collectible comics.

In addition to the omnibuses, Dynamite is offering three special limited edition The Boys comics. Collectors can get Herogasm #1, Highland Laddie #1, and Butcher, Baker, Candlestickmaker #1 as logo-less “virgin” variants. This variation on the comics has never before been offered, and the kickoffs to these three essential miniseries are not to be missed. With spotlights on central characters Billy Butcher and Wee Hughie, as well as the most debaucherous and controversial story in the series, to be adapted on screen.

These limited time offers are also ideal for signed copies, and CGC grading to increase and ensure their longterm value as collectibles. Dynamite is directly offering these options for collectors. Holofoil editions of each limited to only 100 copies will be a great grail for The Boys fans.

Pacific Rim: Ultimate Omnibus is Out Now

In 2013, Legendary Entertainment and Warner Brother’s Pacific Rim impacted into theaters bringing to life giant robots and giant monsters as they had never been seen before. Legendary Comics expanded on the mythology of this universe with Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero, a prequel graphic novel presented by Guillermo Del Toro and written by Pac Rim screenwriter Travis Beacham and a stellar art team consisting of Sean ChenYvel Guichet, Pericles JuniorChris Batista, and Geoff Shaw. The rich universe and mythology that had been devised by the filmmakers and Legendary left a universe of stories that could be told.

Pacific Rim: Tales from the Drift arrived in 2015 once again from screenwriter Beacham and television writer/comic creator Joshua Fialkov and the art team of Marcos Marz and Marcello Miaolo. This tale of a pilot couple linked by marriage and the drift brought a new level of drama to the action.

In 2018, a second movie, Pacific Rim Uprising, descended and with a new set of characters, Jaegers and Kaiju. Cavan Scott took the reigns and crafted a tale that featured the return of fan favorite Hannibal Chau and showed what happened between the two films in Pacific Rim Aftermath

At the same time Cavan and writer Zhang Ran and artist BigN teamed for Pacific Rim: Amara, which depicted the backstory of one of the new characters from Uprising in an anime style.

Last month, Pacific Rim: Blackout allowed readers to revisit the world of Netflix’s Original Anime Series Pacific Rim: The Black in an all-new prequel adventure by Cavan Scott and  artist Nelson Dániel and featuring fan-favorite character Herc Hansen. The PPDC Ranger returns as a world-weary jaeger pilot dragged into battle as an influx of kaiju threatens to destroy the Australian continent and all its inhabitants. Along with his niece Olivia, his copilot Cooper, and Marshal Rask, Herc faces brand-new kaiju of epic proportions while battling his own inner demons.

And, now for the first time ever, Legendary Comics brings together all the Pacific Rim graphic novels in one oversized 568-page hardcover collection that showcases the vast array of the Pacific Rim universe.

Pacific Rim: Ultimate Omnibus is now available at: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indie Bound, and comic shops.

The Boys Are Back With Second Omnibus Plus a Script Book

The Boys: Scriptbook TP Vol. 1

Dynamite has announced the ultimate companion volume to The Boys, a scriptbook allowing fans to go behind the scenes on how writer Garth Ennis and his team brought this boundary-smashing series to fans. As well as the hotly anticipated second omnibus tome of the complete series, in its premier presentation.

15 years ago, The Boys came out of nowhere and ripped through the status quo. The world of comics was changed forever, as legendary writer Garth Ennis, acclaimed illustrator Darick Robertson, and their collaborators brought a biting new take on superheroes to readers. Now after nearly 100 issues total in the franchise, Amazon’s Prime Video adaptation is nearing the debut of its third season and the first of multiple spinoffs. But how did these memorable and shocking tales make their way to the page?

In a new paperback volume just under 200 pages, Garth himself has curated a selection of seven standout scripts from the title’s run. Whether for iconic moments, interesting technique, or personal attachment, the choices include The Boys issues #1, 21, 38, 47, 53, 65, Butcher Baker Candlestickmaker #5, and Dear Becky #1. Each issue is presented with the full script by Ennis, followed by the final artwork by artists Darick Robertson, Russ Braun, Keith Burns, and John McCrea.

The Boys: Oversized Omnibus HC Vol. 2

The book is the perfect add-on to the set of three oversized hardcover omnibus volumes, with the second also now available to order ahead of its June release. This next one includes the riotous “Herogasm” story arc, a controversial look at the debauchery of the supes. Fans assumed there was no way the story could be adapted to film or television, but the Prime show is set to incorporate elements of it in season three. Fans of Wee Hughie will be excited to also read his spotlight miniseries, traveling back to Scotland and learning more about his origins.

The Boys Oversized Omnibus Volume 2 collects The Boys (2006) #31-47, The Boys: Herogasm #1-6, The Boys: Highland Laddie #1-6. As well as additional extras including a complete cover gallery, script pages, introductions, and more.

The Boys: Scriptbook TP Vol. 1 and The Boys: Oversized Omnibus HC Vol. 2 are slated for release in May 2022.
