More Marvel Masterpieces III Variant Covers revealed

In 1994, Marvel Comics’ greatest characters were brought to life by two of science fiction and fantasy’s most renowned illustrators in Greg and Tim Hildebrandt’s unforgettable Marvel Masterpieces III trading card set. To celebrate the 30th anniversary next year, Marvel Comics will proudly showcase the Brothers Hildebrandt’s gorgeous Marvel Masterpieces III artwork in a new collection of variant covers.

Also available as virgin variant covers, the new covers will begin in January and continue all year long. Fans have already seen previews of the January pieces and now can see what’s coming in February, including spotlights on Cable and Night Thrasher for their upcoming new solo series.

Across more than 150 beautifully painted illustrations, comic fans saw the Brothers Hildebrandt’s masterful approach to the Marvel Universe with these timeless depictions of heroes and villains that have stayed with in the hearts and minds of fans ever since. Now, be captivated once more when they adorn the covers of select Marvel titles next year!

Night Thrasher goes solo in February

Marvel and writer J. Holtham have revealed an all-new Night Thrasher solo series launching in February! Night Thrasher is remembered for his super cool adventures throughout the ‘90s in both his solo series and as a core member of the New Warriors. Now, he’s back as a headlining hero in this four-issue limited series! Leaving the ‘90s behind and entering an exciting new era, Night Thrasher will adopt a brand-new look, rekindle his relationship with Silhouette, and clash with an all-new archenemy! Holtham, known for his work in both comics and TV series including Cloak and Dagger and Jessica Jones, will team up with acclaimed artist Nelson Dániel to steer this fan-favorite hero in a bold new direction.

It’s time to thrash the night! The death of a loved one draws Dwayne Taylor back to New York City, though his days as Night Thrasher are long over. But Dwayne finds the past difficult to outrun when Silhouette, his ex-teammate from the New Warriors, seeks his help against a new criminal called The O.G. And the mystery of the O.G.’s true identity and what’s to come will change Night Thrasher’s legacy forever!

Night Thrasher thrashes into Marvel Contest of Champions!

Night Thrasher has officially made his way to Kabam’s Marvel Contest of Champions! Here is a quick bio of the character’s in-game story.

Genius weapons designer and masked vigilante skateboarder. Dwayne Taylor trained himself to peak human perfection before taking on the mantle of Night Thrasher. Forming the New Warriors. Taylor sought to take revenge on the criminal underworld that killed his parents. Night Thrasher was transported to The Battlerealm moments before an explosion claimed the lives of his teammates leaving many to presume him dead. Night Thrasher now fights alongside Earth’s mightiest heroes in The Contest of Champions.

Marvel and Freeform Find Their New Warriors

One of the announcements I had predicted for San Diego Comic-Con was the unveiling of the cast for Marvel and Freeform‘s New Warriors television show. A week early the information has dropped with some fantastic additions and what looks to be a solid group.

Comedian and actress Milana Vayntrub has landed one of the most coveted roles out there as she steps into the tail of Squirrel Girl. There’s been lots of speculation as to who would play the lead character with some pretty high profile actresses publically vying for the spot.

Joining Vayntrub is Derek Theler as Mister Immortal, Jeremy Tardy as Night Thrasher, Calum Worthy as Speedball, Matthew Moy as Microbe, and Kate Comer as Debrii.

The series is Marvel’s first live action comedy and one of two live action series to debut on the channel from the multimedia company, the other being Cloak & Dagger. The show was picked up straight to series and will launch in 2018.
