Tension rises in new “Night of the Animated Dead” Images

Four newly released images reveal the intensity and fear factor across virtually every frame of Night of the Animated Dead, an animated remake of George A. Romero’s 1968 horror classic – now available on Digital, and coming to Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on October 5. 

The four new images spotlight four of the key players from Night of the Animated Dead: Judy (voiced by Katee Sackhoff), Ben (voiced by Dulé Hill), Barbara (Katharine Isabelle) and Harry (Josh Duhamel).

  • Barbara explores a fearfully silent, seemingly abandoned farmhouse in search of answers and refuge from a zombie attacker in Night of the Animated Dead. Renowned scream queen Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps) takes on the iconic role of Barbara in the animated film.
  • Ben attempts to ward off zombies with a torch in a particularly tense moment from Night of the Animated Dead, McClelland is doing a TV interview. Dulé Hill (The West Wing, Psych, The Wonder Years) provide the voice of Ben.
  • Harry finally gets the upper hand – courtesy of a shotgun – in his argument on how the house should be defended from zombies in this moment from Night of the Animated Dead. Josh Duhamel (Jupiter’s Legacy, Transformers) provides the voice of Harry.
  • Judy battles through zombies to reach her beloved Tom in a truck, hoping to help the gang escape the abandoned farmhouse in this scene from Night of the Animated Dead. Katee Sackhoff (The Madalorian, Battlestar Galactica) provides the voice of Judy, while James Roday Rodriguez (A Million Little Things, Psych) gives voice to Tom.

Get a New Look at Night of the Animated Dead

Four newly released images give greater insight into the mounting tension within Night of the Animated Dead, an animated remake of George A. Romero’s 1968 horror classic coming to Digital tomorrow – Tuesday, September 21 – and to Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on October 5. 

The four new images spotlight nearly all of the key characters in the film: Ben (voiced by Dulé Hill), Barbara (Katharine Isabelle), Harry (Josh Duhamel), Helen (Nancy Travis), Tom (James Roday Rodriguez), Johnny (Jimmi Simpson) and Sheriff McClelland (Will Sasso).

  • Stranded in an abandoned home with no information other than zombies banging down the door, a group of strangers is finally semi-enlightened through a radio broadcast that details the zombie outbreak in Night of the Animated Dead. From left to right: James Roday Rodriguez (A Million Little Things, Psych) gives voice to Tom; Dulé Hill (The West Wing, Psych), whose new series The Wonder Years premieres on ABC on September 22, provides the voice of Ben; Josh Duhamel (Jupiter’s Legacy, Transformers) inhabits the misunderstood Harry; and Nancy Travis (Last Man Standing, The Kominsky Method) is the voice of Helen. Night of the Animated Dead arrives on Digital starting next Tuesday, September 21, and on Blu-ray Combo Pack & DVD on October 5.
  • While they don’t see eye-to-eye on how to defend the house and keep themselves safe, they do get a much clearer idea of the dire level of their situation – looking out onto a see of zombies – in this moment from Night of the Animated Dead. Josh Duhamel (Jupiter’s Legacy, Transformers) and Dulé Hill (The West Wing, Psych, The Wonder Years) provide the voices of Harry and Ben, respectively.
  • Johnny and Barbara journey to a graveyard to pay their respects – and end up in the middle of a zombie apocalypse in the opening moments of Night of the Animated Dead. Jimmi Simpson (Westworld) gives voice to Johnny, and scream queen Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps) takes on the iconic role of Barbara in the film, which arrives on Digital starting next Tuesday, September 21, and on Blu-ray Combo Pack & DVD on October 5.

Night of the Animated Dead Gets a Trailer

The animated recreation of George A. Romero’s 1968 horror classic is coming September 21, 2021 to Digital and October 5, 2021 to Blu-ray Combo Pack & DVD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

In Night of the Animated Dead, siblings Barbara and Johnny visit their father’s grave in a remote cemetery in Pennsylvania when they are suddenly set upon by zombies. Barbara flees and takes refuge in an abandoned farmhouse along with stranded motorist Ben and four local survivors found hiding in the cellar. Together, the group must fight to stay alive against the oncoming horde of zombies while also confronting their own fears and prejudices. 

Night of the Animated Dead features the voice talents of Josh Duhamel (Jupiter’s Legacy, Transformers), Dulé Hill (The West Wing, Psych), Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps), James Roday Rodriguez (A Million Little Things, Psych), Katee Sackhoff (The Mandalorian, Battlestar Galactica), Will Sasso (MadTV), Jimmi Simpson (Westworld) and Nancy Travis (Last Man Standing).

Night of the Animated Dead is Coming in September

Revisit George A. Romero’s 1968 horror classic in an altogether unprecedented presentation as Warner Bros. Home Entertainment releases Night of the Animated Dead, a new, star-studded animated recreation of the thriller coming September 21, 2021 to Digital and October 5, 2021 to Blu-ray Combo Pack & DVD.

Presented by The Long Game in association with Hemisphere Entertainment, Night of the Animated Dead is an animated adaptation of the 1968 horror classic and includes never-before-seen, exclusive animated scenes not found in the original live-action film. Night of the Animated Dead will be available on Digital, Blu-ray Combo Pack (USA $19.99 SRP, Canada $24.99 SRP) and DVD (USA $14.99 SRP, Canada $19.99 SRP). Pre-order will be available beginning on August 10, 2021.
