Marvel’s Midnight Suns is Coming

Revealed at Gamescom, XCOM developer Firaxis will release Marvel’s Midnight Suns, a new take on the dark side of the Marvel Universe. The tactical RPG will feature characters like Ghost Rider, Blade, and Magik, as they face off against Lilith, the Mother of Demons.

Midnight Suns takes its inspiration from the comic event “Rise of the Midnight Sons” which was released in 1992. The story focuses on Lilith who awakens and regains her power after being defeated by Atlantean sorcerers thousands of years ago. Doctor Strange assembles a team of heroes to stop her. The story was during a time when Marvel was pushing its “occult” side of its characters.

The video game tells the story of Lilith and her child, the Hunter. The Hunter is a customizable original hero and serve as the central character in the game. The game will mix XCOM-like tactical RPG missions and dialogue-driven relationship building between Hunter and Marvel heroes.

The game features 12 playable characters and featured in the trailer are are Wolverine, Captain America, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Blade, Ghost Rider, Magik, Doctor Strange, and Nico Minoru.

Midnight Suns is expected to releases in March 2022 for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Game Store.
