Spider-Man’s Luck Runs Out against Doctor Octopus

Last week, the Beyond era of Amazing Spider-Man officially kicked off and fans witnessed the beginning of a new age that will see Ben Reilly taking over as the new and improved Spider-Man! Told over the course of 19 thrilling issues, this saga will be brought to you by a group of all-star comics talent known as the Beyond Board—Patrick Gleason, Saladin Ahmed, Zeb Wells, Kelly Thompson, and Cody Ziglar. These incredible creators are ready to take Ben Reilly and the Spider-Man mythos beyond your wildest expectations!

Peter Parker may be out of commission but luckily, Ben Reilly is more than capable of taking his place. Equipped with gadgets and tech from the Beyond Corporation, Reilly has everything it takes to be the superior Spider-Man but he’ll finally meet his match in a devastating battle against one of the Spider-Man’s most feared enemies—Doctor Octopus!

It begins in Amazing Spider-Man #85 by writer Cody Ziglar and artist Paco Medina. It’s going to take everything Ben Reilly and the company that backs him has to stop Otto Octavius. But, in the Merry Marvel fashion and as with all respectable Spider-Stories, even if Spider-Man wins, he is going to lose. And he is going to lose BIG. Amazing Spider-Man #86 by writer Zeb Wells and artist Michael Dowling will deal with the aftermath of the fight and will be a comic that fans will remember for years to come. Ben Reilly has been shaken to the core, and you will be too. And find out if Peter Parker can step up and be Spider-Man again in Amazing Spider-Man #87 by writer Jed MacKay and artist Carlos Gómez. With NYC reeling from Doc Ock’s attack and Ben Reilly possibly down, it’s up to Captain America and Black Cat to see if Peter Parker is ready for action again. You may think you know where this story is going, but you do not.

Also coming in January will be Mary Jane & Black Cat: Beyond #1, a new one-shot written by Jed MacKay with art by C.F. Villa. This unlikely team up will see Mary Jane coming to the rescue of Black Cat after she’s been kidnapped. Mary Jane has never liked Felicia Hardy, and now she has to save her lif! But remember, this is the Black Cat we’re talking about. Things are never quite what they seem.

Morbius and Kraven put Ben Reilly to the test in Amazing Spider-Man’s Beyond Era

There’s a new Spider-Man in town! Starting in October, an all-star lineup of writers and artists will take Spidey beyond the limit in an era without Peter Parker as his fan-favorite clone, Ben Reilly, takes over the mantle. Written by Kelly Thompson, Cody Ziglar (with the rest of the Beyond Board of Saladin Ahmed, Patrick Gleason, and Zeb Wells) with art by Sara Pichelli and Michael Dowling, these adventures of Spider-Man will be like none that came before, offering a fresh take on the Spider-Man mythos and an exciting development for Ben Reilly’s super hero legacy.

This November, fans will see Ben Reilly’s early outings as Spider-Man in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #78-80. Now backed by the Beyond Corporation, Spider-Man is in for a slew of dangerous missions. After being brutally taken down by Morbius, Spider-Man will fall into a trap by one the deadliest foes in his legendary rogue gallery: Kraven the Hunter! The hunter is going to test his prey like never before and Spider-Man is sent into a hallucinatory spiral that will test his sanity and force him to do the impossible.

Also arriving in November will be Amazing Spider-Man #78.BEY, a pivotal issue written by Jed MacKay with art by Eleonora Carlini that will feature the Daughters of the Dragon as Spider-Man’s tough new trainers! But is even their skill level enough for the mission that the Beyond Corporation is about to send them on? This special installment of Amazing Spider-Man will debut a mysterious new villain: OBSIDIAN STAR!

Check out the covers now and see if Ben Reilly is up to the challenge when the new era of Amazing Spider-Man begins this fall!

Arthur Adams has Peter Parker and Ben Reilly Swing Into Action on an Amazing Spider-Man #75 Cover

This October, an all-star creative team is set to take Amazing Spider-Man beyond your wildest expectations! This new era will see bold changes brought to the Spider-Man mythos, beginning with the return of Ben Reilly. Fans can see him joining forces with Peter Parker on the newly revealed cover of Amazing Spider-Man #75. But as the cover of Amazing Spider-Man #76 shows, this Spider team-up won’t last long and Peter Parker may be taking his final web-swing. What villain did the unthinkable and took Peter down? And is Ben Reilly, last seen operating as the Scarlet Spider, really fit to take over? Writers Zeb Wells, Kelly Thompson, Saladin Ahmed, Cody Ziglar, and Patrick Gleason are joining forces with artists Sara Pichelli and Michael Dowling to bring you these answers and more!

Check out the Arthur Adams covers below and get ready to meet the new (and improved) Spider-Man when Ben Reilly suits up this October!

Guest Artist Alejandra Gutiérrez Takes Us to the Dirty Mind in SfSx #3

SfSx #3

The upcoming issue of SfSx #3 by Tina Horn will showcase the talents of guest artist Alejandra Gutiérrez and focus on a behind-the-scenes look at underground club, The Dirty Mind. SfSx #3 will hit stores in November from Image Comics and regular series artist Michael Dowling will return for SfSx #4 in December.

In SfSx #3, readers take a tour of this decadent underworld just as its denizens realize they need to take a stand for everything they believe in.

SfSx is a social thriller about sex, love, and torture that reads like Sex Criminals in Gilead crossed with Hustlers—with a Sunstone twist. In a draconian America where sexuality is bureaucratized and policed, a group of queer sex workers keep the magic alive in an underground club called the Dirty Mind. Using their unique bondage skills, they resolve to infiltrate the mysterious government Pleasure Center, free their friends, and fight the power.

SfSx #3 (Diamond Code SEP190213) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, November 20.
