Rachael Taylor has signed on for the role of Trish Walker in the Netflix series Marvel‘s A.K.A. Jessica Jones. The character in the comics is Jessica’s best friend as well as the superhero Hellcat.
She joins Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and David Tennant as Kilgrave.
The premiere date has been set, but the show will debut some time after Marvel’s fist Netflix series Daredevil.
It was just a few days ago that Melissa Benoist was cast as Supergirl, headling the new television show from CBS. Another cast member has been announced, Mehcad Brooks as the classic Superman character Jimmy Olsen.
The characters has been described as “a smart worldly photographer for CatCo, the media company where Kara works. He had previously been working and living in National City for mysterious reasons, and his salt of the earth nature piques Kara’s interest.”
No debut date has been announced.
Marvel has announced their latest casting decision. Mike Colter will star as Luke Cage, making is debut in Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones. That series is one of the many series Marvel will be launching on Netflix in 2015. The series will be released after Marvel’s Daredevil.
Colter will star opposite Krysten Ritter who will play the title role. He will then likely headline his own series which has been mentioned as part of Marvel’s plans for Netflix.
During the course of an investigation in New York City, private investigator Jessica Jones encounters the enigmatic Luke Cage – a man whose past has secrets that will dramatically alter Jessica in ways she could never have imagined.
After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.
Colter can currently be seen in the XBox original series Halo: Nightfall and has appeared in numerous television series.
