A King’s Vengeance, a Steampunk Revenge Story Coming In December From Scout Comics

A King’s Revenge is a steampunk medieval fantasy adventure wrapped in an action packed revenge story. We follow King Olric who on the last day of a 4 year war confronts the demon responsible. Unable to kill him, the demon assumes the form of his son and slays Olfric. Resurrected by necromancer Beltho Krane 25 years later, Beltho offers Olfric vengeance in exchange for his service. Together, the pair hunt the demon and all those connected to his and his family’s death. Even if it means taking them on one enemy at a time. Inspired by Conan The Barbarian, Robocop, Game of Thrones and Hellboy, fans of  will love this story.

ComixTribe Reveals the Full Roster for Legends of the Wailing Blade, Over Two Dozen Creators

ComixTribe has announced the full list of creators contributing new stories and art that will be featured in Wailing Blade: Headtaker, the collected edition of its popular dark-sci fi fantasy mini-series released last year, which is currently funding on Kickstarter.

Wailing Blade is created by Rich Douek, writer of the IDW series Road of Bones and the upcoming Sea of Sorrows, and Joe Mulvey, artist of ComixTribe’s SCAM and Mummy’s Always Right and the upcoming Happy Hill.

Billed as Mad Max meets Masters of the UniverseWailing Blade takes place in a future dark age, and tells the story of a bandit prince who will stop at nothing to save a father sentenced to death by the hands of the legendary Headtaker… even if it means falling to the Wailing Blade himself.

The four-issue mini-series is being collected for the first time and will be available in a softcover format as well as a deluxe, die-cut foil-enhanced hardcover edition. The new trade will include an extensive cover gallery as well as an additional final scene not included in the single issues.

ComixTribe has also enlisted a murders-row of comic talent to help add even more fire-power to this trade collection. This collection features an all-new “Legends of the Wailing Blade” section including over a dozen tales of the origin of the titular blade. In this world, no one truly knows where the Wailing Blade came from or why it wails… but in every tavern, a different tale is spun.

The Wailing Blade: Headtaker campaign to raise $30,000 on Kickstarter to help fund the print run for the deluxe hardcover collection runs until Friday, November 20 at midnight. When funded, the books will ship in February, with digital rewards to be fulfilled in December.

Webcomic Kamikaze Kickstarts to Animation

Moving Ink Media, the creative company behind the award-winning webcomic Kamikaze launched a Kickstarter to fund their animated pilot entitled Kamikaze: Embrace the Fire based on their main character Markesha Nin. Moving Ink is also publishing the Kamikaze: Short Circuits anthology, with 4 new stories found in the same universe and featuring a diverse roster of incredibly talented guest artists and writers. The month-long campaign has a goal of $27K to fund the completion of both projects and are almost half to their goal as of this article!

Created by husband and wife team Carrie and Alan Tupper, and the talented illustrator/designer Havana Nguyen, Kamikaze is set in a future dystopia where natural resources are scarce and what food there is controlled by corrupt factions. Markesha is a teenager who lost her mother and is caring for her blind father, making ends meet as a courier. When a routine delivery turns deadly, Markesha finds herself caught between warring factions. Now she’s an agent for the resistance organization that saved her and her secret identity “Kamikaze,” becomes a symbol of hope for her people.

The Florida based animation company Echo Bridge Pictures, led by animation director Esteban Valdez, is bringing the world of Kamikaze to life. The animated pilot will feature the voice talents of Dani Chambers (SSS.GRIDMAN, One Piece) as “Markesha Nin”, Monica Rial (Dragon Ball, gen:Lock,My Hero Academia) as her tech assist “Audrey Dalma” and Johnathan Young, Youtube famous for his genre music covers, as Markesha’s enemy “Toro Blackthorne”.

The Short Circuits anthology will feature a cadre of talented writers and artists including Robert K. Jeffrey (Green Lantern/DC Comics), Sceritz (Scorpio), Dan Jolley (Dr. Strange Marvel; G.I. Joe/Image Comics), Takeia Marie (Simone Visits the Museum), Malissa White from Comics Creators Club and more!
