Stephen Desberg and Dan Panosian’s John Tiffany delivers James Bond-style action

Coming this summer from Mad Cave Studios, John Tiffany Vol. 1, written by Stephen Desberg with art by Dan Panosian. Collecting the updated first volume of a raucous action-adventure, this exciting crime-thriller graphic novel, originally published in France by Le Lombard, will now be making its way to the United States!

John Tiffany is one of the best bounty hunters in the world: A ten year career and fifteen million dollars worth of bounties! Tiffany certainly looks the part of a cool hit-man for hire—but he’s not quite the stereotype we’ve come to expect in modern fiction. He’s a bit more human and very, very flawed. John has no illusions about the world that employs him, he trusts only four people: Pastor Lovejoy, an unorthodox priest that sees a bit of himself in John oddly enough… His love for money; Wan Chao, an underworld geek who’s circles serve as an interface with the outside world; Dorothy, his Conservative/Right Wing teammate, and Magdalena, a call girl he has foolishly fallen in love with.

We catch up with Tiffany in Mexico City, when he realizes the tables have turned and a price has been placed on his head. To make matters worse, his rivals know his location, which means that he was betrayed by one of the four people he thought he could trust… All bets are off!

Full of classic comedic adventure, drama, romance, and mystery; you’re in for quite the ride! John Tiffany Vol. 1 is exactly the sort of gut punch fans of international spy stories love. You can get it in shops July 18.

SDCC 2018: Titan Comics’ Under Heads to the Movies

Titan Comics‘ graphic novel Under, about mutated creatures lurking in the sewers under a major US metropolis, is coming to the big-screen, with Franco-Belgian comics powerhouse Media Participations Group, Titan Comics, and U.K. producer Born Wild bringing the project to life.

Under was created by prolific French writer Christophe Bec and his regular illustrator and collaborator Stefano Rafael. It is published by Le Lombard, which sits within Media Participations Group’s stable of comic book publishers alongside the likes of Dargaud, and is represented by Mediatoon.

Set in the near future in the city’s vast sewer complex, which have become a war zone, complete with mutant spiders and crocodiles, disgraced former detective, Jericho, leads the subterranean police force attempting to preserve a semblance of order. Sandra Yeatman, a young female scientist, embeds herself with Jericho’s team, to his disdain, and they battle to stop the underwater carnage spreading above ground.

Anthony Alleyne, whose Sunburn recently played at the London Screenings, will adapt the action-sci-fi project with up and coming writer Brennig Hayden. Alleyne will also produce the movie through Born Wild. Laurent Duvault of Mediatoon, Kristian van der Heyden of Harald House and Annemiek van der Hell of Windmill Film are all confirmed co-producers. Raymond Van der Kaaij of Revolver is also on board as executive producer. The budget is Euro8 million.

The comics launched in France in 2010, with English-language versions following late last year. The plan is to shoot the film in late 2019.
