After an explosive debut in the Johns and Frank’s inaugural Geiger miniseries, Junkyard Joe starred in its own sellout miniseries by Johns and Frank and published by Image Comics. The silent soldier has emerged as a key figure in the world of The Unnamed, a group of seemingly desperate heroes who—both together and separately throughout time—must fight a Great Evil. Continuing its support, Ghost Machine produced a special Junkyard Joe t-shirt with full proceeds going to the NCHV and VA, available via the GHOST MACHINE Threadless store.
The original Junkyard Joe #1-#6 is currently available as a trade paperback collection edition and debuts in an oversized, deluxe hardcover on Wednesday, November 6 with exclusive commentary from the entire creative team including Johns, Frank, Anderson and letterer Rob Leigh.

Image Comics will rush the latest from Geoff Johns and Gary Frank—Junkyard Joe—back to print in order to keep up with demand. The new series joins Geiger in “The Unnamed” historical shared universe of heroes at Image Comics.
Geiger will be adapted for TV by Justin Simien alongside Johns for Paramount Television Studios. Johns will write the pilot, serve as showrunner, and executive produce alongside Jamie Iracleanos for Mad Ghost, and Frank. The project is also executive produced by Kyle Laursen, and Simien, via Simien’s Culture Machine production company.
From the beloved pages of Geiger comes the story of Junkyard Joe. The world knows him as the comic strip by cartoonist Muddy Davis, but the truth stretches back to the Vietnam War. This is their story of sacrifice and brotherhood. Throughout history, unlikely and strange heroes have risen and fallen, their identities and lives a secret. But for a Great Evil to be stopped, their stories must be told. They are The Unnamed fighting The Unknown War. Junkyard Joe strives to highlight veterans’ perspectives through a comic book lens.
Junkyard Joe #1, second printing and Junkyard Joe #2 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, November 16:
