New York Comic Con 2017: Kid Brooklyn is “Comics with a Cause”

With New York Comic Con taking place this weekend from October 5-8th, comic fans stop by the Kid Brooklyn booth #1071 and discover this brand-new, social good comic series by Father/Son duo Joseph and Jaden Anthony. Comic Con marks the debut of Kid Brooklyn, a graphic novel series based on a real kid from Brooklyn and his friends, who are given the power to save the planet. All the main characters are real kids from Brooklyn that want to change the world and this is truly “comics with a cause.”

Founded by 12-year-old future activist, Jaden Anthony, Kid Brooklyn is a comic book that strives to responsibly educate children of all ages about environmental and social issues that challenge today’s world. Given the power of technology and the internet, today’s youth are increasingly aware of the world around them and as a result need a resource for content- which Kid Brooklyn hopes to deliver.

Kid Brooklyn depicts the adventures of Jaden Anthony, aka Kid Brooklyn and his band of sidekicks. Kid Brooklyn was chosen by an alien being who left his home world when he learned of their desire to take over Earth by destroying its natural resources. He entrusts Kid Brooklyn with rare “Sun Stones” which give he and his friends super powers. Sun Stones amplify natural talents, capabilities and what’s in your heart and if they fall into the wrong hands, they also can amplify evil. Once Kid Brooklyn and his friends accept their destiny, they must use these stones and their powers to stop the alien race from destroying Earth and its natural resources.

The Kid Brooklyn franchise is the brainchild of father and son team Joseph and Jaden Anthony. Joseph Anthony is an award-winning marketing entrepreneur who is an expert on the youth market and sought out by Fortune 500 companies for his in-depth knowledge of Gen Y and Z. Born premature and under 2 lbs., Jaden Anthony, aka Kid Brooklyn, has been a “superhero” since birth and is not only the co-creator of the franchise but also its main character. Aside from having strong aspirations of being an engineer and scientist, Jaden frequently references his desire to make the world better by helping children.

Kid Brooklyn: Genesis Vol 1 this October

After his home world is destroyed, he entrusts Kid Brooklyn, who happens to be from “Brooklyn, NY” with a rare “Sun Stone”. Sun Stones are the most powerful natural element in the universe. Powered by the sun, the Sun Stone gives Kid Brooklyn and his friends super powers. A Sun Stone can amplify your natural talents, making them super natural. Once they except their destiny, they must use these newly found powers to stop the alien race from destroying Earth’s natural resources.

Written by Jaden Anthony, Joseph Anthony, Dennis Calero, Kid Brooklyn: Genesis Vol. 1 features art, inks, colors, and letters from Crimson Studio, Santiago Gullen, Tina & Amit Chadge, and Dennis Calero.

Why settle for fantasy characters when you can read about a real life group of friends who all grew up together doing amazing things? Kid Brooklyn is a comic with a purpose supporting environmental and education based charities. Each comic will benefit a different nonprofit with the first being Greenforall.org which was founded by CNN’s Van Jones. The focus is to help communities in Flint, MI get clean water.

At only 12 years old, Jaden Anthony is a vegetarian and environmental activist with his father to help educate kids on the importance of climate change and other environmental and social issues.

The 81 page comic will be out October 2017 and retail for $9.99.
