SDCC 2026: Supernatural’s Dean and Sam Wayward in Twin Titles This Fall!

Dynamite has announced the next major phase of comics for the Supernatural franchise! Following the best-selling series written by Greg Pak, the Winchester brothers are unexpectedly split and wayward in a historic first as writers Chuck Brown and Paulina Ganucheau steer two intertwined titles starting this October!

This shocking schism starts this September in the Supernatural: Wayward special by Ganucheau and artist John Amor. Seam and Dean are bound by both blood and purpose, but horrible, hellish forces threaten to drive them to travel separate roads.

Just in time for the spooky season, fans can then pick up double the Supernatural stories as the two brothers go solo and solve thrilling cases. The questions in these two series are — how long can they stay apart and what could drive them back together?

In Supernatural: Dean Winchester, Eisner Award-winning scribe Chuck Brown and star artist Rapha Lobosco pick up the elder Winchester hurt and alone in the boozy and shadow-strewn streets of New Orleans. It’s Mardi Gras in the Big Easy, which means not only flocks of colorful characters, but also its hallowed alleyways crawling with creepiness and mystery. Dean is determined to close a case his dad never could, but to do so, he might have to murder a god…

Following Wayward, Paulina Ganucheau is joined by rising artist Kendall Goode in cracking open new tales for the younger brother in Supernatural: Sam Winchester. After he’s done something to Dean that he can never take back, Sam is drawn to an abandoned town deep in the heart of Appalachia. Guided by cryptic phone calls, he finds himself wrapped up in a mystery as old as the mountains themselves. Will the ancient eldritch horrors overtake this Winchester?

Dean’s standalone series is complemented by fittingly slick covers by Marguerite Sauvage and Lobosco, plus a pair of photos showcasing the brother’s iconic visage. As a multitalented creator, Ganucheau also contributes covers to her series, alongside Goode and two photos spotlighting Sam.

Supernatural super fans can check out the mystery blind bag options available for both titles, offering a fun approach to collecting and exclusive premium variant editions like logo-less versions, line art presentations of art, and more.

Readers are encouraged to follow both series, keeping up with the twin tales of the Winchesters and staying tuned for even more shocking tales to come that will reunite the wayward family once more!
