Fillion, Lee, Glau Among 2013 Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con Stars

Castle star Nathan Fillion, fellow Serenity and Firefly headliner Summer Glau, Eisner Award Hall of Famer Stan Lee and WWE Superstars John Cena and Daniel Bryan are at the top of a standout roster of celebrity guests scheduled to appear at Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, May 30 – June 2 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.  It is the third in the 2013 series produced by Wizard World, Inc. and will also feature a top-drawer collection of well-known artists and writers and a variety of activities, exhibitors and special attractions.

Fillion and Lee will appear on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2; Cena is scheduled for Thursday, May 30; and Bryan will be on site on Saturday, June 1 only.  Other standout celebrities attending include William Shatner, The Walking Dead duo of Michael Rooker and Norman Reedus, Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, Manu Bennett and many others.

Additionally, all full price attendees will receive a free copy of the Exclusive Variant Cover of The Walking Dead #1 comic, available only at Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con.

Superstar comics creators scheduled to attend include Bryan Hitch, Salvador Larroca, Leinil Yu, Howard Chaykin and Barry Kitson.

Also featured in the autograph area are the Buffy The Vampire Slayer trio of James Marsters, Charisma Carpenter and Juliet Landau, the Charmed threesome of Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause, “The Fonz” Henry Winkler, “Brat Packer” Andrew McCarthy and NCIS star Lauren Holly, among dozens of popular celebrities.

NEW YORK and NEW ORLEANS, January 3, 2012 – Rare meet-and-greets and Q&A sessions with legends William Shatner and Stan Lee, panels with movie and TV stars James Marsters, Mary McDonnell and Adam Baldwin, and several themed parties headline a broad, diverse schedule of special programming at the 2012 Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con, January 28-29 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.  Unique Jedi lightsaber classes, sessions with stars of classic favorites, a screening of the new film THE VICTIM and artist schools to costume contests are some of the activities that reflect the wide variety of interests shared by Comic Con attendees.

Some of the top sessions include:

  • Once-in-a-lifetime, extremely limited meet-and-greet opportunities with pop culture legends Shatner and Lee, including photo ops and special gifts

Unless noted, New Orleans Comic Con programming will take place in the designated panel rooms at the Morial Convention Center, and is included with admission to the event.  Notable events requiring additional ticket purchase include the Shatner and Lee meet-and-greets and lightsaber classes.  Seating for panels is strictly limited and available on a first come first serve basis and each room will be cleared between panels.

The Intergalactic Nemesis Live-Action Graphic Novel Show
The stage version of The Intergalactic Nemesis projects more than 1,250 images into comic book artwork panel-by-panel with voices from actors Jason Neulander, Amy Hackerd and David Higgins. The live performance also features Foley artist Buzz Moran to orchestrate sound effects and keyboardist Graham Reynolds to play the score. *A separate ticket must be purchased for this event. New Orleans Comic Con is the first stop on Wizard World’s 2012 North American tour.  Hours are Saturday, January 28, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.; and Sunday, January 29, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Tickets are available in advance online at http://www.wizardworldcomiccon.com/neworleans.html at a savings over tickets purchased at the door.  Advance adult single-day tickets are priced at $30 ($40 on site); weekend all-session tickets are $45 ($55 on site), and tickets are free for children age 10 and under when accompanied by a paid adult (limit two children per adult).  VIP packages with special entry and exclusive items are also available on a limited basis.

Calgary is getting Spiked as one of Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s most notorious vampires makes his way to the Calgary Expo!

(Calgary,AB) One of Joss Whedon’s best loved characters will be attending the 2012 Calgary Expo, Western Canada’s largest pop culture event. James Marsters,who is best known for his role as the platinum-haired heart throb in Buffy the Vampire Slayer will be available for photo ops, autographs and panel discussions over the weekend. An accomplished musician, he will also be performing at a special event hosted by the Calgary Expo, An Evening with James Marsters on April 27th, 2012. Details about the evening event will be announced on the Calgary Expo website in mid-January.

Marsters has also had roles in smash hit television shows such as Smallville, Torchwood and Marvel’s Superhero Squad. His famous role as Spike was reprised in Angel, the successful Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off.

“James Marsters has been a cult-hero amongst pop culture fans for over 15 years,” said Kandrix Foong, Calgary Expo Event Director. “We’re not only thrilled to have him at the Calgary Expo, we’re also excited to be hosting this special event where fans can experience his music here in Calgary for the first time.”

NEW YORK and AUSTIN, Texas, September 21, 2011 – North America’s largest pop-culture tour continues as Wizard World Austin Comic Con returns to the Austin Convention Center, November 11-13, with standout guests Hayden Panettiere, Adam Baldwin, ACADEMY AWARD WINNER Louis Gossett Jr., James Marsters, Juliet Landau and Charisma Carpenter headlining the list of celebrity attendees.  The event, produced by Wizard World, Inc. (WIZD.PK) will bring together thousands of fans of all ages and dozens of celebrities and industry professionals to celebrate the best in pop-fi, pop culture, movies, graphic novels, comics, toys, video gaming, television, sci-fi, gaming, original art, collectibles, contests and more.
