Crowdfunding Corner: Vampires on Mars asks how much will you give up to get what you want?

Backer Beware: Crowdfunding projects are not guaranteed to be delivered and/or delivered when promised. We always recommend to do your research before backing.

It’s an intergalactic confection composed of a force far beyond human ability—it’s Vampires on Mars #1, now live on Kickstarter!

Co-created by writer George O’Connor, with art by Fernando Pinto, through a mix of sci-fi, horror, and dark comedy, it’s a new series that begs the question, how much of your humanity—literally and figuratively—are you willing to give up to get what you want?

In a last-ditch effort to save his dream of being the first person to send a manned mission to and from Mars, a desperate billionaire realizes there’s only one way to do it successfully—he must turn his astronauts into vampires.

Hanna Von Fleischer looked up at the stars and dreamed of being among them since she was a girl. That was 300 years ago. Despite being a vampire for centuries and exploring every nook and cranny of Earth, her obsession with the night sky never waned. Decades ago, she figured out how to travel between the planets. She just needed technology to catch up to her ideas.

Billionaire Gary Laurie dreams of being the first person to successfully send a manned mission to Mars and back. Despite hiring the best engineers and scientists money can buy, they haven’t been able to come up with a viable solution. And with each failed attempt, Gary falls further down the billionaire’s list—a fate worse than death.

Each issue features an exclusive interview with astronomer and science writer Phil Plait, discussing the current state of Mars missions, and what the reality of sending vampires into space would really be like, and more!

Unearth the chilling secrets of Broke Tree Valley… in The Mammoth

Mad Cave Studios has announced The Mammoth, the forthcoming Teen+ series written by the celebrated horror comic creative team Paul Tobin and artist Arjuna Susini; including two exciting variant covers by Jessica Fong and Kevin Wada “Pride”.

Something is wrong in the deep forests of Broke Tree Valley. Something deadly. Something mammoth. The legends speak of something larger than human comprehension…A monstrous phantom that disappears for decades at a time. Now, it’s back, and things are about to go Very Bad if four people—Olivia, Jess, Kokoro, and Mason, scientists who have come to the small city of Kasbro to investigate a bizarre series of seismic activities in this heavily forested valley—can’t put the Mammoth to rest. One real problem with this is…Olivia’s dead.

Those who like Bunny Mask won’t want to miss The Mammoth #1, which drops in shops June 5th. Colors by Pippa Bowland with letters by Charles Pritchett, edited by James Emmett.

In a dark future Felix, Paulie, and Sera form an unlikely friendship, brought together by their addiction to the illegal virtual reality technology known as DREAMtech. Their use of the mind-altering device leads the three on a quest for the ultimate high: a mythical virtual reality program nicknamed BLACK IVORY, which is rumored to be digital nirvana. Without money to acquire the elusive software, the three turn to a crime spree that puts them on a collision course with authoritarian law enforcement, technology-dealing gangsters and ultimately themselves. The Concrete World explores friendship, addiction, loss, obsession, love and the consequences of humanity pushing forward with new technologies. A story of three lost souls, so disillusioned with the real world, they’ll do everything possible to escape into virtual one.
